Anyone have any information or knowledge of "Tradition-AL bows" out of Eagle Creek, Oregon?

Might trade into one of his bows but have found ZERO reviews or info other than his website which does not show much. Thanks.

Nice looking bows, not much info on the website. Seems like ya gotta call for any info. Must only make on request, no inventory?

Those are great looking bows. Someone needs to clean up the spelling and grammar on his site though.

I've know Al Kimmery for some time now..He makes some fine longbows and recurves..

Talk to him and ask him yourself.. 503-816-6614

He's a great hunter and bowyer..and he'll listen to you.. Tell him Jim Fetrow said hello ..

Traditiona-Al www.tradal-bows.com

Al's not much of a computer fellow but his wife of many years does check the computer now and then..:)

His primary business is plants and nursery plants and he's good at that too.. You should see his shop..and the hundreds of trophies and sheds he has hanging overhead..Jim

Matt, I've shot several of Al's bows..and they are well designed and constructed..He's worked a bit with Wes Wallace and other fine bowyers and is very innovative in his methods for bow building..

but I don't buy bows much these days..I think I have about 35 presently..:)

I did trade Al an old Pearson recurve for a heavier phenolic risered Wing Thunderbird recurve a year or so back..It's heavier than most folks want but suits me fine..Jim

I purchased a TRAD-AL longbow this past Christmas from Al. It is a deflex/reflex flatbow design. It's 66" long, 40 lbs @ 28" with Bolivian rosewood riser witha micarta vertical stripe and elk antler tips (FF capable). It has bamboo limbs (not action boo).

The bow was built for another person two years ago, and he sold back to Al for credit toward another bow with heavier draw weight. Al refinished it, and put it on craigslist. I found it and bought it.

This is my first "good bow." I would say it was my first "custom," but it wasn't built "for me." It is very quick with Easton 1816 xx75 arrows, and it points very well. It has minimum hand shock (really none to speak of). It has a dacron string. No silencers. It is a quiet bow as it, but I may play with some string silencers. The brace height is about7 1/2" I like the handle forward design to see if it makes any difference. Whoever had it built before me, they had my hand in mind, as it fits like a glove. I'm very happy with it. Very well made.

I would give a very positive endorsement for the design, craftsmanship, performance, value, and quality of the bow itself. I give an "A+" for Al Kimery's business character/integrity and customer service. Al and I chatted a few times via phone in between payment and shipping. Check his website out and all the antler sheds he has collected-wow. I think he was as excited for me buying one of his bows as my first "good bow" as I was. His wife Linda has a great sense of humor. Very nice people.

Oops, messed up on editing from the post with the full picture of my Trad-Al longbow. I cut/pasted and got burned. Sorry.

Posted: No silencers. It is a quiet bow as it, but I may play with some string silencers...... The brace height is about7 1/2" ....I like the handle forward design.... to see if it makes any difference.

Should be: No silencers. It is a quiet bow as it is, but I may play with some string silencers to see if it makes any difference. The brace height is about 7 1/2". I like the forward handle design.

Yes, I have to finish painting the wall.

Thanks for the post but it's a couple days late as I opted against the trade and simply sold my bow. Oh well.
