My wife had it for ages. Took shots that worked temporarily. She finally found a good surgeon and he fixed it.

My wife had to have surgery also. Get a good highly recommended hand surgeon. Hands have more parts & bones than the rest of the body. >>>----> Ken

I had a really bad case of it on my string hand for several weeks. One day I was taking some old vegetables out to the cows that had gathered at the fence. My dog decided to be a hero and save me from the cows and he charged them. I swung down and slapped his head hard as he came past me. I felt a pop in my hand, then terrible pain, but the trigger finger was gone. I was happy that I didn't need to see a doctor.

Shot didn't help. Surgery was a minor thing that cured the problem.

Got an injection today, second one for this finger, last one was July '23. Injections can vary in how long they last. 9 mos. is good. Surgery on the right hand 3 years ago on the middle finger of my string hand after the injection only lasted about 3 mos. Everyone is different. Results may vary.

I had it in 3rd finger on drawing hand. Went to a good Orthopedic hand specialist. One shot and no trouble since. That was 5 years ago.

When watching tv or reading or checking out the Leatherwall, stretch your hands and fingers. I do it all the time.

I had trigger finger so bad I could not draw my bow without pain. I went to a specialist - hand surgeon. Tried 2 injections of cortisone which only helped for a short while. Hand surgery last April and I was back shooting in about 2 months - now a year later everything is fine.

I am certainly happy for whose who have received LASTING relief on their hands either by shots or surgery. This started about a month ago. Ring Finger on the left hand. I CAN unlock the finger without using the right hand, but it is sore, painful and very frustrating. I press on the palm UNDERNEATH the knuckle and feel pain. No pain under the other fingers. MANY THANKS to ALL who have talked about this problem! GOOD HUNTING & BLESSED BE! BATMAN

I had one done on my right hand with carpel tunnel, and all four done on my left hand. Now I need the other three on my right hand. The surgery worked well for me. The shots did not.

Got it bad in my right thumb, and it's amazing how painful it can be when just trying to do stuff around the shop. Had this before and had a shot for it, but it didn't help and I'd be lying if I didn't tell ya the shot was one of the most painful ones I've ever had.
Not messing with that this time.... I'm going for the surgery in June.

Had the surgery 7 years ago. Middle finger both hands done at same time. All went well. Just make sure you do the finger exercises after for full range of motion.

Well I don't know about trigger finger..but I'm 82 and all my fingers still work OK.. years ago I had a back and arthritis problem..one day I was in a farm feed store and I asked the fellow about the little packages of white powder on the counter.. ..' oh! ..that's glucosamine' ..he said..' they give it to the race horses for their fee' anyhow I started taking .. ..glucosamine / chondroitin..still do every day and my back is better than it was then and my arthritis is minor. It acts like a lubricant for your joints..a natural product made from shell fish I beleive. Codjigger

According to a meta-analysis of the published data, surgical recection and repair offers the best functional outcomes in Stenosing Tenosynovitis (trigger finger)
Codjigger, I fully agree with you Glucosamine is pretty good at maintaining joint movement and flexability ... well done you for getting in there early.

Thank you..! Phil..I preach the stuff..at least that's what my wife says!! I hope to keep my flexibility also by stretching and light weights..as I sit watching TV.. I bend each finger backwards holding it for a 10second stretch..hoping to avoid carpal tunnel..trigger finger? Lifting light weights helps your bone strength..density. I am a bit of a vitamin nut..I guess.. Magnesium also for the bones..and brain? Fish oils..seal oil ..for the cardio system. Some time after I discovered Gluco in that feed store I went back in and told the fellow.."that Glucosamine stuff may work on horses but it's no good for me..I've been taking it for months, and I can't run a darn bit faster!!"
Codjigger.

Codjigger .... that's an excellent regime you've got going there, keep it up
Back in the late 80's I was privileged to work with the late great rheumatologist Barbara Ansell, Barbara would often tell patients to "use it or lose it"
