I know Jim well, great guy and great craftsman. I haven't owned that bow. But, he had a handful a few years back of various weights and I shot them all. I draw near 29" and it was just fine and dandy. He sells them for just a "few bucks" more than the cheap Chinese stuff.

I won the 60" Messenger, 37# at 28", last year at a shoot. Great shooting bow and very well made. I also know Jim and he is a top shelf guy.

A friend of mine got one last year and he's real happy with it. It's 56" long with the G10 riser. Beautiful bow and smooth to draw. He got it through Lost Nation.

Haven't shot the Messenger (no pun intended) but to this day Jim's takedown longbow is still in my top three shooting bows of all time.

Jim is top notch. I have had 58 and 60 inch Messengers and they shot well at a 29+ draw. 56 inch should be fine at 28.

I don't have a Messenger, but Jim sent me an "I am" model a few months ago, and it's awesome.

Jim Jones is one of the best kept secrets in traditional archery. He builds a great bow for a great price. I have had a part in ordering a dozen Messengers over the past year. Friends and family. They shoot well and won't break the bank.Jim grinds his own lams and doesn't use veneers. You get whatever woods he has on the rack and there's A LOT on the racks. He has his own stabilizing process if you are interested in more weight in the riser. Some of my orders have been 58", some 60", but most have been 62". I think the Messenger design performs best at that length for shooters w/ near 28" or more D.L. I draw mine 30" and it shoots awesome! He'll tell you he is a year behind in orders and I'll ask how many is a head of me and he'll say....."The only order I have is yours". I have not waited more than 90 days for any of them. When you buy a bow from Jim you are buying a witness to his faith. James 4:14 is stamped on the upper limb of every bow he builds. Like the life of man, the arrow is but a vapor... here and then gone. Jim is a good friend and a good bowyer. You won't regret owning any of his designs.
