I'm sure George feels like he is on a roller coaster ride, so many ups and downs!

He is currently in Shadyside in Pittsburgh. Tomorrow, the 22nd he is to have stints put in his pancreas. That procedure was to be done last Thursday, but Dr's had to put a drain tube in his right lung to drain off the fluid that was building up.

His cancer treatment will be done with a pill regimen and is not as invasive, as first thought.

I mentioned to him, during one of our weekly phone calls that the " whole Leatherwall family" are praying for you. He always reminds me to relay to "all of my Leatherwall friends" that he is very grateful for your prayers and continued well wishes!

George was praying for my sister last year that I lost on the 22nd of April due to lung cancer and I’m praying for this stint to work for George and the Lord gives him many many more years with us. Cancer is a word no one wants to hear or experience . It’s very painful having loved ones suffer from it but I’m so glad we have so many prayer warriors who are willing to just stop and pray for a loved one to be healed here. George is like a Mentor ,Friend and brother to many here and even though many have never met him like myself His suffering is heavy on our hearts . We miss you George and we send our prayers to the Father who can take this away . I pray those stints help and put you on a road to recovery. God bless and be with you our friend. Keefers <‘)))><

Thanks Scott for the update. I know George appreciates the prayers. He has way too much time to think about things that may be really slow going. I hope that prayers are answered. It is awesome to see so many praying for Him. After over 20 operations myself with lots of hospital time, the roller coaster rides can really wear you out. Get better George, people sure do miss you.

Prayers up for Mr. George and Carol and family. Prayers that these other interferences can be dealt with positively so that they can start getting to the root of the problem.

We were talking it up for you George at the shoot this past weekend. Everyone wants to see you walking around with your bow again!

Stay positive buddy and give it up to God, he will get you thru it!

Thank you Scott for the update.

Tier 5 cancer drugs are awfully expensive, thousands of dollars per week is common. I'm currently on private insurance and pay nothing. In June I go on Medicare and all that goes out the window. Doc says there is funding available to help and not to worry. Easy for her to say.

It depends on the drug, and it depends on the insurance.

From: Phil Magistro
Date: 28-Apr-24

My father-in-law had a similar occurrence. His wife worked for a local Blue Cross company before retiring and the company supplemented their Medicare coverage. They had a true cadillac plan. But the medication for his cancer was not covered. Fortunately the manufacturer of the drug had a program that covered almost all the cost. There was also funding available from other organizations but he didn't need that.

From: manybows
Date: 28-Apr-24

Prayers are sent daily, darn insurance companies when you need them most they let you down. Profits are their real agenda.
