Not paying $20 for a feather rest use to be $10 from Trap

Rooty , You are like me love to “Tinker” and make your own stuff . I got to say Trap does make a sweet feather rest and they vary in price from different vendors .

Feather rests may be one of the easiest to make. Rooty, I know you could make a few in a half hour.

Funny you should say that. I have discussed with Larry Root on the construction. The Roots used a gasket base material. Larry remembers stinking up the basement making them for his dad. Here's a pic of one he probably made close to the same year I was born.

BT true but should hold up to the downward pressure of string walking.

I like the slope toward the window you put on the bristles. Should work pretty good.

Jack Howard made his on a thin piece of leather. He used six feathers, three right wing and three left.

Worst thing about puttering... Three hours, six iterations, my wife wonders why I'm not in for dinner, and I realized that the first plan was the best. Best thing about puttering...First try works, I'm still in late for dinner, and my wife doesn't understand why I'm so proud of my amazing creation. Best thing about my wife...She pretends she cares and it's important. She's the best.
