Please recommend a well made moose hide mukluk boot, I have been searching the web but most of the ones I see are either cowhide or just low mocassins made from moose hide. Something that will stand up to the rigors of hunting.

For the Steger lovers, are they truly waterproof, that’s my biggest concern.

Yup, Steger mukluks are the best for sure. I live an hour away and when their showroom was open made many trips up to walk through their place. They are still open but since Covid have closed the showroom. Check em out at

I have the CamuksXtreme , probably one of the warmest Boots your gonna get. As for "truly waterproof" I'd say truly water resistant. The soles are soft rubber made for outdoors not as a workbook. As for climbing metal tree steps/pegs for treestand hunting, you may puncture the soft soles, tree ladders are fine. But definitely one of the better and warmest boots out there.
