Just curious I haven't bought carbons in a while. Used to get Gold tips now I see big Jim's and black eagle. Any input? I'd like to use standard push in Easton nocks

Thank you

We use Big Jim's Dark Timbers almost exclusively when we shoot carbon.

I'm still using gold tips, the 500's fly great with my setup and have been very durable, so why mess with success.

Haven't tried any others, but every one here rates Dark Timers very good as well.

I love Gold Tips that’s the majority of what I have but i also shoot Dark Timber they are very good and price is very good

I have yet to notice any real difference in quality or longevity of GT Trads, Easton Legacy Carbons or Black Eagle Vintage, and everybody says Jim’s are just as good (I’ve shot one or two, so no real sense of them.

All that I really care about is keeping the nocks & inserts fully interchangeable. Mostly I shoot whatever my Shootin’ Buddies manage to break. Keeps my cost structure in line!

LOL

Only killed 2 today. ;p

I have been lucky and run across some CX Heritage 250-350 shafts that I like. Predominantly, shoot tapered or tapered and footed POC, or Ash/Red Balau, but when I shoot carbon that's what it is. Have some Warriors and other stuff, but not much.

Easton's as good as any.

Dark timbers and Gold tip are nearly interchangeable... except that I now have spines in woodgrain from 300-1000! I dare say the the Dark timbers are straighter and more durable than most. bigjim
