yep, a beautiful sight. Back in the late 70's, here in mid western Arkansas, we had huge flocks of several hundred or more. It was crazy to see and actually hard to hunt them for the sheer amount of eyes. The poachers thinned them out badly using trot lines baited with corn. made a lot of us sick. They would seem to keep getting up in the woods for ten minutes as you eased along. They were also netted for trading to other states for other critters like elk etc.

Breeding already, even with snow on the ground. They come into my bird feeders every morning.

You'll tormenting me! I've been in woods trying to get something established ain't seen or heard a thing! On way church Sunday morning, big gobbler in full strut barely off pavement, at least 9" beard! You know what? I don't care a bit, I'm still loving it! Thank Lord I can and free and still healthy enough to go! Keep pics coming so I can remember what I'm looking for!!!

We had an out of stater here in WV check one of those buzzards in as a turkey years ago when we had in person Check Ins . if you don’t the difference that is scary

i remember being over run with turkeys back in the 1980s when we bowhunted in mo. we have seen several here in south central iowa lately and i'm sure you would hear some early morning gobbling right now!
