Took my Del Allen “High Country Longbow” outfit a rove today. The posts from yesterday inspired me to take some pictures along the way.

I left the back edge of my property and entered the bush.

I got into some wary and wild stumps right away.

Last licensed in 65’

Then came the first water crossing…..

And you’d think that in 54 years of life I’d know that ice can be slippery!

Del would be upset!

Yeah, it hurt. I landed square on my babb CB k on the back quiver and loaded with arrows!

Looks like fun, nice setup, bow and quiver. Are those old Bear arrows? How far do you figure you went?

After that I shot a few more stumps and then headed back home. With a sore back and pride…. The end.

A mixture of old Bear arrows and modern. Well, I probably walked a mile Planned hit more but after the slip and fall I went feeling up to it…. lol.

What part Northern MN? Grew up in Silver Bay 57-1973.

Dave I was born in Minnesota but moved away in 59. Two things, because of my last name airport guy asked if I had any fishing secrets, and that this was gods country as you could walk on water in winter. I loved the Minnesota woods but was not crazy about shoveling that white stuff in winter.

I’m near Hibbing. I run down to Silver Bay in the Fall and fish off of the breakwater hit salmon.

Peter.p, Yup this is definitely Moose country. I usually see more Moose, Bear and Wolf sign than deer..

of course you know that the car was illegal to take now with a bow? I don't even need the ice to go down like that, only it is usually face down when I hit, sometimes the knees get hammered as does the hands but it all ends up hurting. I hope that you heal up quickly and that ice goes away for you. awesome pictures, glad that you got out anyways. and yes, I have scattered stuff everywhere, just for practice of course.

Ron, There was zip for snow here this winter. I used my snowblower one time and never needed it again after that.

Nice time to get out, no bugs and easier to find the arrows.
