Today's shot will be an option... walk-up series - 30, 25, 20 yards.... or the long bomb - shoot from as far as you dare, then follow the 1st shot up with 2 additional shots.

God bless,

CD

Bear Montana 60@28, 2117 arrows. 30,25, and 20. I ordered some arrows for this bow and will work them up next week. These are showing a little bit weak and are tuned up for another bow. I’m loving this Montana so far.

As long a bomb as I can sling inside the range: 49ish yard gate bomb, battery of three.

Thanks CD!

You know, I really DO need a good excuse to go to the club today…. ;)

@Howard - How long are those 2117s? And are you using s hard gapping method to have your elevation dialed in like that?? Because WOW, are those lined up neatly….

Very nice shooting here today… Impressive to see Crow minimizing the vertical spread at such a high GPP…

Corax you better shoot from inside of a barn that’s the only way your to hit

Thanks. I’m a split vision type shooter. Out to 35 yards I do okay with my elevation usually. Past that and I am purely guessing. I think my split vision is sort of like “gapstinctive” - elevation is something I throw into my shot sequence. I can’t explain it, but it’s working okay lately. Gapping just frustrated me in the deer woods down south. The really good aiming methods get hung up in bushes. ??

I draw just shy of 29 inches. Those 2117s are 30” arrows with 100 grain inserts and 160 grain points. They shoot good out of my 50-55 pound recurves.

30,25,20 walk up as called. I'm sure of the 20 but 30 and 25 not so much. 57' Bear Grizzly static 62" 58@28. Great shooting everyone and thanks for the call.

Thanks CD, spread 'em out, but I'll take 'em. Y'all have a great Memorial Day weekend and be careful! And remember our fallen heroes defending this great country!

30 is the long bomb in my backyard lane, so I shot 5 arrows. One was a bit off but I do not blame the arrow, I blame myself for sending the arrow out under-educated. Arrows are cedar wand bow is the 68” JDBerry Misty Dawn.

Well, since it only took me a dozen tries the other day, I thought I’d lead off with The Bomb….. It was quite a bit more difficult today, though, because I really couldn’t track the arrows worth a damn, so there was about zero feedback; I did get just a hint of a glimpse on shot #3, wouldn’tchaknow…

So with the note that shot #1 ( yellow/orange) landed about 10’ long by the base of that tree and #2 (green) went long by more like 20’ (beyond that big rock), I was not terribly disappointed by the spread, and the trajectory on shot #3 was nearly spot-on. (That’s the red/black fletch, left of the block in the sunny spot).

Overall, spread was about the same as the length of one of my arrows, so that translates to about 7” wide at 17.4 yards.

These shots were taken at a known 70 yards, but without a hard gapping system.

But I was frustrated at missing, so I took this one from our “Muzzy” course stake, which is just about exactly 40 yards.

Yes, I placed the block back on its pedestal…

And I had to take a whack at yesterday’s…

Walking up the trail here, there’s a coyote just under that red arrow; stepped it off at 36….

THAT’s a bit fuzzy….

You can just make out the back-line above that log in the path….
