Thanks everyone. I put off this surgery for a few years, can't put it off no more. My nephew will be dropping me off at the hospital in an hour. After bowhunting all of last year with a hip that hurt like hell hopefully this year I will be bowhunting with less pain.

I damaged my hip in a tree stand fall seven years ago. I like 3 d shoots in these W. Pa.
hills but it was too hard on my hip and back. I asked for a new hip but they said no.
X ray did not show bone on bone ( tell my hip that ). The pain doctor said after this long
it would not get better and recommended Oxycodone. I am limited to ten pills a month
but that is plenty. One pill and I can shoot all day with no pain, and better scores since
I am not thinking about my pain. Does not affect my mind at all, too bad so many have
abused such a good drug.

Glad to hear that you’re home. I had my hip replaced 2 years ago. My recovery went slower than I expected but all is good now. It’s great hunting, hiking ect. Without pain. The most challenging part of my recovery was not trying to do too much. Follow your orders.

When I went to therapy the first time after back surgery.a big ol German woman jerked me around and folded me like a pretzel.i damn neared cried.and shoulder surgery was damn painful therapy too.the saving grace was I had a real nice big racked therapist and I tried to be strong.dont know what hip therapy entails.

I was in the hospital 3 days from Monday early AM to Thursday noon. On Tueday my physical therapist said,"Bob, I want you to get out of bed and get cleaned up in the bathroom." I said the eff I will. The dude forced me out of bed. I was actually yelling from the pain.Not kinda going "ouch", yelling. I had full intent to come back to the hospital and square with that mofo. Because I was so belligerent with him, the therapist, and the nurses, I heard the surgeon tell the nurse "Change his meds. He's having a bad reaction." Those got changed and I did mellow out somewhat. But I hit that damn button and they came in, In an hour Bob." lol
At any rate, DO YOUR THRERAPY. And stay the eff off the drugs. haha

I don't have any complaints with my doctors or nurses, they were great. The first couple days were rough, but I was expecting it. I'm doing a lot better now. After bowhunting last year with quite a bit of pain I'll be looking forward to bowhunting this year without any.

I hope you have one of these; invaluable after my hip surgery, I call it a reacher-grabber, and it helped Fromm getting dressed to picking up the TV remote.
I know those couple of hard days. I had both hips replaced at the same time, didn’t know a person could be that weak.

Hip replacement is a real big deal when It's YOU going through it. It took me a week to turn the corner and lose the fear that something might go wrong. I had an e room ultrasound done on a Sunday six days after surgery thinking I was developing an infection. Nope just swelling all was normal. "So just relax Bob, you're fine." :that'll be $2K thanks: lol
