Anybody finding any sheds? I found this one a couple weeks ago. I wasn't necessarily looking for sheds. My wife and I were just out for a hike. Been out a few times since. The only antlers I seen were attached to a deer.

I don't look for them, but sometimes blunder in to them now and then. Got a nice set of them two springs ago on our own land down the ridge; found one side, and about twenty yards away lay the other side. I'll post a photo later.

I don't search for them but if I see one I'll pick it up. Here are a few I've found through the years.

Very cool, Buzz. Is that Gary Muhlberger?

Starting to drop here but thick grass and brush eats them. This shot is a couple of days ago.

I saw three bucks eight days ago that still had their antlers. A 6ptr near my house. Two 8ptrs ran across the road in front of me and my grandson while driving thru the Crab Orchard refuge in S. IL a few miles from home.

Usually find mine in the fall. I've only found a few this time of year.

I have a couple nice bucks on my place that have dropped a horn on one side according to that trail cam pics. I need to go look for em

I found this shed a few days ago. Compare that to a buck’s antlers I killed 8-9 years ago. Looks like they are definitely related. Same tract of public land

That's an awesome buck bluesman. I've always wanted to get a drop tine buck, just because. I've never even seen one in the wild. Pretty cool. I'd love to find some sheds like that.

These are from a Buck I hunted hard the last 2 yrs of his life. Our acreage was part of his home core.

I missed him on a easy shot the 3rd day of the season while he was in full velvet. I thot he was a 180" class 6x6 at the time. Later I got trail cam pix of him and he was 180" class on his left but the right side was stunted 150". I had him in bow range three more times but passed hoping he would straighten out the next year.

He got killed in the November Shotgun/Muzzleloader season on a neighbors property. I watched him grow up from a yearling 4x4 to 6 1/2 yr old Beauty. He had a very distinguishable square throat patch.

That guitar is freakn cool...

Thats a beautiful buck bluesman, I take it you mounted his sheds on a cape? Did anybody ever end up killing him?

WOW bluesman, what a buck!

I enjoy waking around looking for sheds. It's good exercise, a good chance to scout around and sometimes I even find a shed. I usually combine it with stump shooting and that's even better.

I'll be in a sling so no shooting but I'll be out walking around for sheds in the next couple weeks.

Haven't found any so far this year. I usually find them in the fall when not really searching for them.

I found a set in Illinois a couple springs ago that we 1.25 miles apart when you draw the line on a map. Farthest I have ever found a set apart. They are the set at the top.

We are having a tough winter in ND. I had 130 deer in my yard late December. They started shedding early. The weather has mellowed out lately but we still have a long way to go....

Nice haul Beeman.

Very cool to find matched sets gun. I've only found 2 pairs and they were a quarter mile apart for one set and the other a couple hundred yards apart. Both sets from yearlings ... little 4 & 5 pointers.

My sons have found matching sets of older 8s and 10s a couple of times. One pair not more than 2 feet apart.

I used to hunt sheds with a passion years ago and have collected quite a few...easily a couple hundred with the help of my Labs Jake and Jed.

Bluesman, what an exceptional buck. That's the old guy you had msg'd me about no doubt. I feel ya on that bud. Good dog Odin! Handsome specimen with excellent taxidermy.

From bucks I've taken over the years...going to be cut up and utilized instead of just stashed away in a tote.

The rack of a buck I took long ago with my Shawnee flatbow in Shawnees National forest... appropriately eh. No cuts up on this one as I intended...too many memories on that hunt and this fine buck especially.

From: ottertails

Yah bluesman, I've done a lot leg work collecting them....several counties I've hunted here in Illinois. Northern Illinois and Southern Illinois. I was gifted some Oregon Blacktail skull racks and a muledeer that I've cut up and used for accents on many leather projects.

Blues man - great story of a tremendous adventure with your buddy. Beautiful mount too.

I enjoyed searching for them with our labs. They usually found the sheds. Since no more labs, I rarely look for them. Looked yesterday for a short while but nothing. A couple days ago, a nice 8 point was chasing a doe in our yard.

A couple years ago I was doing a nuisance beaver trapping job and found this easy one.

Took a walk in my woods behind the house this afternoon, most years, the deer move out by New Years, this winter they hung around. Just walked my 4 wheeler roads and found these two sets. In both cases, one was on the road, the other was in the brush within 30 ft of the first one. Thanks John
