Anyone use the Ace spine tester that hangs on the wall? What can you tell me about it? Think I'm going to get one.

I have the bench top version, but I have heard good things about the wall mount. It's an ACE so it's likely quality.

I have had one for quite s few years. I bought it mainly to conserve bench space. When I got it I had some wood shafts from a few different companies. All these shafts had the spine written on them, and when checked on the Ace the numbers matched within a pound. Great tool, I would definitely buy again. Ace is a great company.

I can say that you will probably find that some wood shaft sellers don't really spine match as well as they claim, some but not all. And you will find that all carbons are not equal. Just because it says 340 spine on the shaft does not mean that is truly what it is. The ace tester is accurate and for me it is a brand tattaletale. It tells the truth about what you actually got and what changes you have to make for your setup. Five star product in my opinion.

I love mine, bought the weight that allows you to spine kids arrows. Its cool to see my kids shoot matched wood arrows from their 12-21# bows.

Thanks for posting this NYBowhunter. I’ve been trying to find a used one for a little while and may just sell a few things to buy a new one from Ace. With a pile of wood shafts to build up for new archers, it would be good to know if the spines I have are close to what they are supposed to be.
