Since this one blew up at full draw today. Maybe leaving it strung in a hot garage when it’s near 100 degrees outside is not a great idea? I shoot almost daily and have done this for years, but this time....

Maybe expansion from the heat made the bolt fit tighter, my head feels that way today in the Texas heat.

Overtightening could crack the wedge then the heat got it.Can you make more limbs it looks homemade.

Several possibilities, but it’s done, now what to use? I have many bows, Another one like this one, but this is the one I had chosen to hunt with this coming season, been shooting it almost daily. The other one is a little heavier draw but I’ll make due. This was a first and I sure hope the last!

Nice thing about a 3 piece take down is that you can replace the limbs ,and you are ready to go again.

As long as their a bowyer that can make new limbs to get you back into action, their been bowyers that has passed away with no one to make those certain type of limbs or discontinue that model. Good luck getting back into Action, need extra limbs.

There is a reason to unstring a bow when not being used. I know that irratates some out there.

I usually keep my doors open, but sometimes I’m gone and don’t, There is a ceiling fan running, but it still gets near 100 degrees at times. I have other bows strung, and this one has a few years experience, but didn’t get by this time.

It looks by the pics that the initial failure was at the fades and then the split at the bolt followed.
Long distance photographic prognostication. 8^)
