Do any of you guys still use the fabric Camo limb covers for hunting?

If you have pics share them.

I haven't used them in a few years, but I still have two sets.

I haven't used them in decades but, like Frank,I still have at least a couple of sets hanging around.

What's to not like about them? They cover up those glossy limbs and help protect them from abuse in the woods.

I use the new spandex type, mostly to protect my bow, but it does also prevent any glare that might reflect from it. At the distances that I hunt, the loss of any speed is not a factor, and I practice with the sleeves on the bow before season.

Anyone know where a fella can get the old school camo sleeves like Frank has on the right there? Not the tape. I used to have those in the 80s on my compound.

I use the ones like BowAholic, they protect your Bow , cut down on the shine and you hardly know you have them on.

I have a bear kodiak hunter i use them on.Like the ones your talking about i use the cloth type on a hunter that Ken - 2 bears repaired for me.l also use the spandex type that are camouflaged.

I have the Spandex type that I use when I'm hunting with a gloss black limbed Howatt, they are still available.

I have some new old ones and I had a set made in Advantage camouflage for my Bear bows. They keep the spring arm quivers from rubbing the finish and cover the gloss finish Bear used.

I just use some camo cloth tape. It works just fine. I only leave it on for the season.

Spandex here too. They fit tight and are excellent.

You can do a Google or Duck Duck Go search on camo bow limb covers and find what you need from multiple sources.

I remember them well, that's pretty much all we had back in the fifties for bow camo. Then in the sixties, we started painting our bows,...we followed Bear's lead. I was a teenager then and followed the older bowhunters,...to us a bow was a tool and we did not yet consider them works of art. We were not afraid to paint them. Yep, those old camo bow sleeves,...mentioning them brings back memories...think I still have a couple pair around here somewhere,...they would be the WWII camo pattern and not the woodland, treebark or other patterns that came later. I remember we discovered that after a bit of shooting they would migrate toward the tips of the bow limbs. if you shot enough they were all scrunched up near the tips. To remedy this we'd use electrical tape and tape around the sleeve end and onto the riser. That held the ends in place. I remember too sometimes we cut off the tips of the sleeves cause they were too long. We then taped around the tips and onto the glass to hold the ends in place. We viewed our bows as tools and were not afraid to alter them as needed,...drill into them to attach a sight or a bow quiver. A couple of times I recall taking a file to the riser to modify the grip area to my liking.

Been using them for many years. Plus my Bow is Camo painted. I twist them to snug them up, then use rubber bands. Works well for me.

I use a pair of Rod Stwarts pants.

Bet its over 35 years or more since I did that.

I use camo fleece limb covers. Protective and quiet. But does pick up stickers and pine needles.

The camo sleeves we had were WW II pattern. Rubber bands on the tips was how I held them in place. Masking tape around the riser. Back then we unstrung our bows by taking the string off the nock, not sliding it down the limb. Then we hooked the string on the nocks backward.

I like them. Keeps the limbs from getting scratched up. Absorbs light instead of reflecting. I got these from Jack Kempf who I'm pretty sure got them from Three Rivers. It has Dark Timber/Flooded Timber printed on the camo.

Last year I used the stretch tape that clings to itself and just wrapped my bright limbs. The limb covers would probably be easier.

wrapped with some 4 inch camo shipping boot wrap on the riser end to keep it in place. It does a good job on the sight window too and keeps an aroow from clanking on bare wood.

As I recall, cloth limb covers were kinda the reason I got into painting my bows in the first place. The only covers that seemed to work well for me were made of spandex but they still seemed to pick up stickers.

Still Hunting in a Ghillie you become pretty adept at spotting and avoiding stickers, so cloth limb covers are NBD.

Still have some spandex versions, but matte finish is all I need and careful bow handling.

To be honest I currently don't use them mainly because I haven't seen any for sale in years. Many years ago I had a set and they were a marvelous bit of kit.Cammo your bow for hunting and uncammo for target work.I have used scrim cloth but is not really that practical . Osr
