It's been 6 long months since I've last shot my bow, so I decided to shoot tonight. It pulls only 47 pounds, but I had to warm up with it by drawing, over and over, for a few minutes. For the first four or five draws, I couldn't reach anchor. However, once I could anchor and hold, I went outside and shot a four arrow group and took a photo. I admit the shot distance was only 15 yards, but that's a long shot where and how I hunt. It looks like it's going to be another year where I can't get much greater. Now, I just have to finish up my brush buttons and bow quivers, and I'll really be great!

I see you splurged for a new backstop!!

Nice shooting deadeye!

I draw a 65# bow and hold at anchor with a straight bow arm a few times every day during the off season. Keeps my muscle memory alive!

Nice shooting, stick with two lane roads and not three lane highways, you'll be fine.

Don’t see any bare shafts so how do we really know your great………….:)

From: olddogrib

Such modesty, lol! Who aims at the crease of the bales? And at that location it looks more like 15 lbs. of penetration to me. But a least he's smart enough to have what appears to be a solid wood wall behind it...just in case his "greatness" diminishes when he quits plugging those shafts in by hand! We need live video with the camera behind the shooter. Stevie Wonder can shoot 15 yd. groups!

Nice group, What kind of bow were you shooting?

From: Don T. Lewis

From: George D. Stout

Well, with such little time needed to practice, you should be getting to those brush buttons soon eh? I've been patiently waiting for the best brush buttons ever loosed on mankind, but patience is waning. :)

Joe, nice shooting! We need a word from your sponsors southern style. What camo pattern were you wearing, what scent did you use to freshen your breath, arrow build, foc, we're you using the old muzzy broadhead or this year's model? You need a manager! Podcast! YouTube channel!

It's about time people are beginning to recognize true greatness here on the Wall. My bow is a Custom Kodiak TD, wood A riser and #1 limbs. Without question, the best bow design of all tine!

Joe

A great archer would have shot all the potatoes, not just the one in the middle.

We all collectively wish you were not so great. Its truelly humbling.

Its easy to stick some arrows in the bullseye by hand and take a picture of a well executed group and pass it off as actual shooting.Nice try!

Thanks for the lessons and tips Frisky. First couple of arrows after 5 months and shoulder surgery in March. Still w a mouth tab. Ten yards only.

For the record I also used the best Bow in the world. Bear B mag riser. 40# @27"

Which bag were you aiming at?

From: Frisky
Date: 24-May-22

Yes, the bow has a lot to do with it. With inferior bows, my first groups of the year were much larger.

Here's where I first got interested in the Bear TD. All I could get was a 76er, but I knew the Kodiak TD was the true bow of bows.

I might've been able to shoulder that backpack back in '75. Let's see....I would've been 18. And all my worldly possessions would've taken up less space!

From: Landshark Launcher
Date: 25-May-22

I never shoot multiple arrow groups like that. Only my 1 arrow groups are that good. MAn,you are the best shot on the wall. That 15 yards is twice as far as you kill all them truckloads of does...I only hope to be as good as you someday. I think I will change my handle to;;WANNABE LEGEND..:^)

Glad to see your still on top of your game ! Now just get your car gassed up and the deer want stand a chance . Lol

From: Frisky
Date: 26-May-22

LOL! Now, Monkeyball is getting in on the jealousy! I'm used to it. My new products are almost done. They will light the entire world on fire! I'll become a sponsor here and get the respect I deserve for not only being the best bowhunter to come along in the last 100 years, but also for being in Fred Bear's class as a product designer!

Joe

From: olddogrib
Date: 26-May-22

Catskills, proceed to the front of the class...you would be correctimuunndo! Just think of it as an analogy...a hunter(the LW) cold-trailing game(our government) by both taking the same trail. The good news is the "hunter" has zero chance of closing the gap!

From: ruintfletch
Date: 26-May-22

We all know that group was shot from 5 feet away...Only Big Jim could do that at 20 yards....Ha!!!!!!

From: hawkeye in PA

Frisky, with all your talent and modesty I think a good book ought to be in the works. Starting chapters how to become a legend of the north, shooting like me, bows, hunting skills, making cookies, the cat lady, and maybe the last why everybody wants to be me. I'm sure I'm missing a few chapters, maybe your admirers can think of a few more. Just a thought as I admire your legend status.

From: Landshark Launcher
Date: 26-May-22

I'm not sure that you will have a successful deer season this year. With gas prices going up, there will be fewer cars on the road, hence giving you less opportunities to getting your bi-decade doe....

From: Downcanyon

I wish you weren't so great too. It's sorry to keep up, I'm about ready to throw the towel in.

Landshark Launcher, I've heard from the Cat Lady Joe has "gone green" this year and will be prowling in a Tesla. He'll have the advantage of quiet he lacked in the Power Wagon, but it won't be hard to spot him...it'll be the only one with a custom brush guard on the front bumper!

I can tell that the limbs are improperly tillered for your bow.. A group so high for someone so short! It is obvious to me!

Oh Frisky do you think you are in the league of the great bowhunters.Remember Aussie bow hunter Dallas Conway.I actually saw his resting place in Rookwood cemetary in Sydney last year.Seriously moving experience.I got to meet him briefly in the 1970's.You must be the best in your neck of the woods.I don't see many bow hunting legends here any more where I live. Osr. A Dallas Conway fan

In Australia, my greatness is appreciated, and they listened to me and put Conway in the Hall of Fame several months after I wrote about him.
