I have the same model. Very nice pocket knife!

I'll bet it's still sharp! That's cool. You won't find obsidian points here in Illinois.

Probably a good spot.

It was one of Frisky's ancestors....that's why there's no blood on it! Sorry that just slipped out.

Had an old buddy that knapped several obsedian heads and would occasionally drop one along some hiking trail for someone to discover!

VERY NICE! When I was a kid my dad would take us to several farms and we would walk the fields in the spring after tilling and find arrowheads. Had a box full from small bird points to larger points and grinding stones etc.

That's cool finding old arrow heads like that.

If you were hunting when you found it, karma says you need to hunker down and hunt right there!

Obviously you two were thinking alike when you were scouting out spots!

There is a large park high in a Montana wilderness area where we find lots of obsidian. Around the edges just in the trees there are places where the early people sat and knapped and there are small piles of chips. I used to sit there and imagine. It seemed like a guy could almost get in touch with those old spirits.

Nice find, Scoop.

Yeah, I was hunting--for the odd ruffed grouse with my bow as my late season mule deer archery doesn't start for another month and elk season is over. It was in the same general area I have hunted maybe 50 times or more in my lifetime for ground squirrels, rock chucks, small mule deer bucks, and the occasional grouse, which I have shot at a couple times with no success.

The area was a little shute in an area of mixed lava rocks and brush, with a few sparse quaking aspen stands, that I had never seen before. After working down to it, it turned out to be about 4 to 6 feet wide and 30 feet long. You could see exactly why that might have been an ambush spot for game moving through the rocks. And lo and behold.

I did sit it for a bit, not hunting, but contemplating who had hunted before me...

Nice find!

I love finding stuff like this. The friend that showed me how to look for arrowheads found a gorget while looking for arrowheads, now that is a rare find! The gorget was an oval green stone with a single hole in one end. I jumped up and screamed when he found it.
