Taking my dad's old Paul Bunyan recurve this year. He's never harvested anything with it. I hope to change that. I have no idea how heavy this bow is, other than it was difficult for me to shoot more than 10-12 shots when I first started out with it. When I draw my 49# Black Widow back now, it feels like a 20# bow. I'll be using 2117 Camo Hunters with 145 grain Zwickeys.

No pics but I'm taking a '69 Super Kodiak to Co. in a couple of days to chase elk. It's 64" and 50# at 30". 2117 Easton Classics with 150 gr Woodsman heads, total weight 545 gr. I'll hunt back here in Mo. with a Frankenbow I made with a Black Bear riser and 40# SWA longbow limbs. It likes 2016's with 150 gr snuffers.

The pic shows what was supposed to be my setup. Batman wanted to see the arrows, so I took the pic. Anyway, the other night, I went out and shot the Bear cedars into a nice group, at 17 yards. I did it without warming up, a custom of mine at the start of the season. I then got an idea. I left the cedars in the target and went into the house and grabbed the carbon arrows I usually hunt with. I went back out and shot them. All 4 landed inside the cedar group! I'm starting the season with the carbons but still using the Razorheads with insert blades. I'll be using my 47 pound Bear TD and shooting 465 grain arrows. I got to that weight by the use of 75 grain steel adaptors. That brought head weight up to 190 grains on 275 grain shafts, left full length.
