Thanks Don. Being a dad and a husband are the two best things that ever happened in my life. My son is like me in many ways but he is his own person and I'm proud of him. He's turned into quite the stream fisherman and I imagine he'll be out fishing me this year. That's ok with me, sometimes I like to just sit on the bank and watch him fish.

Dnewer, yep, love flyfishing bluegills. That there is one hell of a bull gill !!!!

Right now we're getting ready to plant some peas. Taters are in the garden, and lots of plants we started from seed will be ready about mid May....no greenhouse.

Trout fishing with the old 1970's South Bend fly rod makes for a relaxing time, and I live right next to the woods so it's easy to get into a good roving session. All my kids are grown and grandkids too for that matter so it's me and the wife.

Today it's another day to check for Morels, found about a dozen black ones yesterday morning. They were gone right after supper. :) Sometimes I just sit and listen to the spring chorus in the woods, or watch some minnows in the little brook that runs through the SGL. Lots of beauty around the area where I live.

I like to fish, stump shoot, attend 3D shoots(that don't require me to keep score), some RV trailer camping. One of these days I hope my wife and I can travel the country for several weeks at a time with our camper in tow. I have a Bear TD mag riser that stays in the camper for any opportunities that arise.

Craig, great looking PA native brookie!

Here is a native brownie my son caught last year on a stream in Ligonier. I've fished that stream for over 40 years and never caught or heard of anyone catching a native brownie. It was his first cast of the day.

When I lived on Long Island I spent most of my time surf fishing for Striped Bass, my favorite to-do. Living in Florida I haven't come up with anything. Sure there's fresh water stripers but it's not the same and I've never been a fresh water fisherman. Maybe I'll get into chasing pigs. Looks like fun. Frank

Nice guys. I like to fish and hunt ground hogs too. I’m afraid now to shoot up my ammo for fear of not finding any. I mostly work around my house so I can get everything done before the end of September. I’m building a deck and a bar for my man cave. From September to to January I am bowhunting . Once I get all of this done I’m going to get back into fishing

It’s been an awesome spring here, getting out and scoping out potential ground blind / ambush spots for the whitetail’s later on , ice out crappies coming on soon, great action but only a few kept for meals, later on bluegills and river smallmouths on the mighty Mississippi, lots of firewood to cut split stack and always time for the recurves, you gotta love it!

This year I am building my wanted all my life man cave/ workshop.

Usually I get in my kayak and fish for trout and flounder and take long trips with my wife on our harley, but due to physical issues I had to give up riding and kayaking.

here is my new workshop still under construction, us old guys aren't real fast anymore, but I am steady at it picking away. I built every thing here except the trusses and had a crane and crew install the trusses. 12ft vaulted ceiling made the trusses too top heavy to do it the old way.

Trout fish till may. June and July fish the lake for whatever bites. August start scouting for deer. Our season starts early Sept.

From: Stubee
Date: 20-Apr-21

I may get out for steelhead if crowds aren’t too crazy, then I fish at our lake cottage for smallmouth and walleye, and wade small streams to fly fish for trout.

From: GF
Date: 20-Apr-21

Not at all convinced that in order of priority, but....

Off-hand, I’d say gardening, mountain biking, fishing, sailing, sea kayaking, dancing with my wife, shooting down at the club, trying to be a decent father to my boys, and for the past several years there has been a backpacking trip in August with my older son and two or three of his buddies and their dads.

That and spending WAY TOO MANY hours parked in front of the computer paying the bills.

And this summer I have it on my list to beat myself into shape so that I can go Elk hunting this year. Just have to figure out how I’m going to sneak the hunt in around work, family vacation time and getting #1 Son off to college.....

From: Live2Hunt
Date: 20-Apr-21

And yet another bull Ass bluegill, steelhead fishing, you guys are driving me nuts!!! I got out steelheading once this spring, nothing went right, too many people, and 0 takes. But, I was still on the best river WI has to offer so not a total bust.

Nice photos guys. I am sure many of us share similar interests. I still shoot 3 - 4 days a week off-season to keep my eye in tune and to play with different bows. I am too cheap to shoot guns anymore, but do enjoy collecting traditional knives, mostly Case, Buck and a few GEC’s. I can’t afford big time tournament-style bass fishing, but do enjoy pond and stream fishing with my wife. Here lately, I have been buying and refurbishing Garcia Mitchell spinning reels when I run across them. Much like archery, the hunt is most of the fun.

From: babysaph Professional Bowhunters Society - Qualified Member

I bow hunt and build bows/arrows/equipment only to pass time between fishing trips or fishing seasons. I've been a 150% fishing crackhead since I can remember, maybe 3-4 years old. Primarily fly fishing now, but started on spin fishing. Lakes, rivers, ocean or gulf, I'm in.

I start off hunting ground squirrels with the grandsons, then maybe go to turkeys and bear, or just more roving and small game through the summer. Sidebar: The boys got about 50 shots Sunday and a couple of squirrels each. I got six shots and was 0-6, which is the new normal. The younger one offered to point them for me, just like our dog.

From: Jeff Durnell
Date: 20-Apr-21

I make bows and flintlocks and other woodworking projects. Right now I'm making cutting boards, rolling pins, ceramic knife sharpeners, and such. I do a lot of hunting for mushrooms and other edibles. I rove around the game lands with my selfbows sometimes and go fishing for hybrid stripers at night. I'm going to try fly fishing for them in the coming weeks, might go this weekend. Sometimes I catch snapping turtles or hunt groundhogs. Trying to get a small orchard going here. I also play guitar a little. Can't list it all. Too many things to get good at any of it ;^) More often though I'm playing handyman for family and friends.

Mostly I work, and "wishin' I was fishin'"!

Any free time I do have I wander around my back fields shooting Judos at whatever.

This summer though, I have VOWED that I will do some flyfishing for smallies on the local river that I live about 10 minutes from. I guess we'll see!!!

Peco, This is my son standing by the fermenting tanks at Cypress Brewing. He really loves what he’s doing. And to think it all started with a one gallon home brew kit for Christmas. We have made some really fine home brews together. I’m always looking forward to trying the next one. Good luck with your home brewing.

I know it’s not easy stalking up on a ground Grizz Ralph. Tried it many times without a bow in hand . To practice stalking skills. Thanks for sharing the picture with us. That 66 F-100 had a 390 in it. One of the best trucks I ever owned.;)

Back in the mid 60s I was reeling in and drug in a section of rod with an old Garcia-Mitchel 300 on it. Ever since that's the only reel I use unless fishing for much larger fish. So we've caught a few bass, large mouth in ponds and smallmouth in mainly Scioto River every summer. So between scouting deer, groundhogs, shooting ,and outings with my 300 thats about it for summers. Spring and fall sometimes bear or turkey.

Beekeeping. This hobby keeps you busy through the spring, summer, and fall.

I've got swarm traps out now trying to catch feral swarms. Caught the first one last Sunday.

Shoot almost daily, stumping and 3D .Lot of gardening and mowing along with cutting trails on the property. Live on a stream so some fishing as well. Keeping up with my dogs (beagle and lab) takes a fair amount of well spent time as well.

My PoP asked me to make him a sign. That had the words. “ A trout Fishermans paradise“ wood burned into it. I came up with this. It’s been to hot to shoot here. Working in the basement is cool.
