Anyone read his book “44 years behind the bow”?

I have the book but haven't read it.

Some good stuff in that book. I believe my copy is signed.

I have the book and have read it. An interesting part of archery here in Flint, Michigan. Cliff had a sore front shop on Saginaw Street in downtown Flint, he lived in Otter Lake where he built his bows. Other Flintites of archery were Tracy Stalker, Erwin Ketzler and many other contributors.

Is it a book of hunting stories? Or how to’s?

He made beautiful limbs for some of the earliest take downs. The Grimes "Chief" comes to mind. Since pics aren't posting cannot show limbs but they are possibly easy to access through research. Is the book rare?

Bownut they are not in print anymore. Clif ordered a lot of books and didn't sell many. I was on the MTB board and we made the decision to buy them all to help Clif out and in doing so we stored several boxes of the books until the decision was made to give several away and later sold them for I believe $10.00 each and maybe even as low as $5.00 until they were gone so the club could get our money back.

The book sounds similar. I will have to see if I have it. They are selling for $50 to $125 now I see.

Cliff was a very nice humble guy. I met him at the Great lakes Longbow shoot. We talked about his Slasher broad heads and he said he had to leave for a while. When he returned he had some broadheads in a bag and gave them to me. He had drove home and cut these heads off his arrows for me. Great man.

I've read it. Very interesting read. I lent my copy to someone on the wall and forgot who. Would like to have it back. It was full of archery history.

I tried to get a copy to read from interlibrary loan, but the lending library is “in house” read only. Bummer. Might find a copy somewhere someday.
