Anyone know what kind of longbow Laramie Sasquatch Miller carries on his show?

I believe he shoots a longbow made by Bigfoot Bows that are built by Mark Lavender. From his Sasquatch Series models.

Yaa,Kirk Lavender.

I was not serious that Laramie Sasquatch Miller shoots a Bigfoot Bow.But maybe he should or maybe he does.

I don't know what he shoots but I have an idea he shoots a variety of all different style bows. He will be the guest speaker at the West Virginia Bowhunters Association 45th annual awards banquet March 22. The WVBA magazine carries a story about him that has me a bit puzzled. The article says, "He hunts and survives off the land in the same way as the mountain men of the mid-1800s. Born of Indian ancestry and trained by true mountain men, Laramy uses only his handmade bow and a traditional .54 caliber Hawken rifle to travel the routes once taken by the original mountain men." But the cover photo has him with a short R/D longbow over his shoulder and also a picture of him with a great bull elk with a tricked-out compound bow sights, stabilizer and all resting on the elk. So it seems that he uses it all.

I don't know what kind of bow he shoots but the show I saw he had a nice looking relatively short R/D bow with nice wood on it.

The episodes I’ve watched of him shooting, the bow is a Big Jim longbow with a Creekwalker quiver attached.

Unless he's changed up he's shooting a Big Jim Thunderchild.

Now I know who he is.

Just saw his show today.Norwood is right. It was obviously a Thunderchild.

I saw him shooting a more traditional longbow a few or more years ago.Looked like a longer Hill style or maybe mild R&D D shaped when strung.

Looks like he went the hybrid longbow route.

In my opinion his show is like all so called "reality" shows, scripted and mostly fake.

On one episode the was going to make an osage bow "like his ancestors used", as soon as he started shaping the back of the bow with a course rasp I knew he didn't know what he was doing and didn't have a clue. You have to carefully chase one ring down the back of an osage stave with a drwaknife and scrapers to make a bow. A rasp would ruin a stave. he never finished the bow.

I have been making osage bows for 28 years, I know a little about the process.

I saw the same thing on the Mountain Man show, the old guy was going to make a sinew backed osage bow for a client in one day. It was obvious he didn't know what he was doing, it takes weeks for sinew to cure.

Later in the day he brought out the finished bow which was a poorly tillered osage bow that had been made so long ago that the osage had already turned very dark and wasn't bright lemon colored like a freshly finished osage bow. Another fake scriped episode.

Eric, I'm on your side. I've said for many years all the so-called "outdoor shows" should hire a qualified technical adviser. I still watch a few of the LBZ genre, mainly for the scenery. It must be a subliminal safety PSA but seems like they all show hunters noisily chambering a round after they have supposedly closed the distance and are ready to shoot. We all know how game appreciates that in the real world! Wildfowl hunters yacking at the camera while clutching a .22 rimfire. Same hunt, back from commercial, very next frame they're holding a lever centerfire. "Hey, Key Grip, just bring us something with a barrel that goes bang....and don't let Alec Baldwin handle it"!

Correctly identified as a thunderchild. BigJim
