Just curious as to all hunt with the shorter version of the Bear Take Down. It appears that I will be owning a Bear TD very soon. For my blind hunting, I like a shorter bow. I have purchased some 40# number 1 limbs from a fellow Waller and will hopefully be purchasing a 60" bow ("A" Riser) from another Waller. I prefer the wood riser, just something about wood.
I know that the TD's are known for being smooth drawers and shoot very well. At my 27" draw, it should be very nice. So it looks like I will be joining the Bear TD group, never thought that I would be doing this. I can't wait to shoot this bow, now I will have to get some arrows for it, I may go 4 fletch with possibly 4" feathers. I still have a couple Bear Razorhead lites (the blue stainless) that I hunt with. I have actually taken more deer with them than anything else, mainly because I shot Aluminum for years and liked them. To me, the TD is like the top of the line of Bear Bows, with lots of options!

With the 60 and 56 you will be pretty well set for overall shooting for about any situation.I think the 56 is pretty stable and will make a nice short bow for since you stated you like shorter bows. The deflexed riser helps paired with the shorter riser.
My experience is the A and #3 limbs are a bit smoother feeling with less pinch ofcourse.A tad more accurate IMO personally for me.Your mileage may vary Jerry.Only you can judge when you have the 2 setups in hand and shoot them a bit.
But if you have the A riser and #1 and # 3 limbs you have a very versatile bow and you can choose the one thats best for any situation you might want one or the other in.

I have a 28.5" draw and have no problem with an A riser and #1 limbs. You'll be fine. Good luck

I've got both #1 and #3 limbs for my A riser, and I don't know if I could pick a favourite. I draw 29.5", and even so the A/#1 combo works really well for me. I tend to use the #3 limbs more, due to my longer draw, but I actually like the the snappier feel of the shorter limbs. At 27" draw, you can't go wrong with either.

I to have a 27in draw. I have both A and B risers. The A with #1 limbs is my preferred hunting set up. I don't notice much difference between any of the combinations of riser and limbs. With that I choose to shoot the shorter set up.

I also have a 27" draw and use A Mag Risers with #1 Limbs exclusively. Great performance in my opinion.

I hunt turkeys and antelope out of a blind using an "A" risor with #2 limbs that works fine with a 30 inch draw. #1's pinch my fingers.

I have two A risers (black maple and Bubinga) with #1 limbs at 50 and 45lbs both 56". They are accurate, handles feel great, quiet. Good for stalking, treestand and blind hunting. Also have the Eichler riser with 57# #1 limbs, also a good overall bow. Great to travel with, take down quickly and fit compactly in a small travel case.

All things considered, I prefer #2 limbs over #1 limbs in a A riser, no noticeable difference in tight areas but more noticeable with finger arthritis. Just my 2 cents

I shot the A riser with #1 limbs at the classic a few years back. My draw at the time was 30”+. The guys behind our group kept committing that those limbs looked like they were going to explode but they didn’t and it performed great for me all weekend. I love the combination. At your draw length I’d definitely go with the 56”set up.

It's great, especially the 2018 and later models, with those sleek limbs! Maybe even before 2018. The only complaint some might have with the A riser is the shorter sight window. I don't mind it. No pinch at my 28" draw, while my 54" Drake has a slight pinch.
