I need to re-lace a back quiver and need to buy some quality leather lacing in long strips. No place local here in crazy California. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Ron

Did you check to see if theirs a Tandy Leather store near you? If not you can order it directly from them. Weaver Leather is another choice of mail order. Probably Amazon but I don’t know what they have because I never got lacing from them.

I buy all my lacing from Tandy leather. I us 5/32in Kodiak lace. A bit pricey but excellent quality. I use to use 1/8in but you have to be very careful. The strength was not consistent. I'd end up with some I couldn't use. Haven't had that trouble with the 5/32 Kodiak lace.

Yep. Google or E-Bay or Etsy. A local (not big city) shoe store might also have leather laces.

Smithfield Leather, I buy all my leather there.

Just looked on Amazon for you. Many options to choose from.

You might look at Brettuns Village. They have carried lacing in lengths and spools in the past at very good prices. I think they buy close outs and odds and ends of leather, sewing, and chest goods. They are in Maine. Never used their lacing, but picked up quite a bit of their leather for projects. They usually have a weekly special and I believe free shipping on everything. Google the name if interested.

No tack shops there? Lots of horse people in Cali.

I cut a 9" diameter of 6-8 oz leather and set my strap cutter to 1/8" wide. Get an outside edge of the circle started in the cutter an keep pulling. Longest piece of lace you ever saw. Don't buy that suede or split cowhide they sell on spools, many weak spots.

Traditions Leathercraft in OK City. K.C. is a traditional shooter and does excellent leather work.

Call any backquiver maker and see if they will sell you some or at least point you in the right direction

At one time I used Tandy/Leather Factory for everything, now I find that I get better quality and service from Springfield Leather.

Leather boot laces work pretty good, Walmart used to have them.

Thank you for the replies and suggestions. Been without cell or internet for several days. I'm in Pasadena area in southern Ca and it's a freaking nightmare right bow. Thanks again for all the input.

Add my vote to the Springfield Leather or Weaver Leather suggestions. I have bought lacing from both and have not had any issues with it. And you can find a selection of colors or shades of lacing. I have found more often than not that Springfield is better on shipping costs.

I forgot about Tandy. Looked it up and there is one about an hour drive from here. I looked at Speingfield Leather and like their variety, especially the kangaroo leather. Not cheap but this is a special quiver made by one of our local legends who passed away.
