Can those that use the Wooltimate products comment on how loud the wind block layer is? I have had mostly negative experiences with wind block in the past with the noise it makes. (It all seems to block wind)

I am very interested in this also, it seems there are many die hard fans here of it but I looked into it more and it seems the newer product Cabela's is selling isn't near is good. When people chime in please say if yours is an older garment or newer, that will help answer the question. thank you

I've had the Wooltimate vest and coat for several years...both have the windblocker layer. I have never noticed any noise with either garment. I've been extremely happy with their product. I can't comment on the new stuff though.

I've had my wooltimate pants, coat, hat and gaiter for probably 10 years and have sat through snow, rain, and sleet while in the woods and warm as anything else I've ever had. The new Cabela products I won't waste my money on. They just don't have the quality I am looking for. As far as noise I've never had any of the deer I killed complain.

I've had Wooltimate jacket, pants, vest and gloves for 12+ years and have only good things to say about them. As you wear/wash them it soften the materials, although it was not noisy from the start. Great product.

My midway soft shell jacket is noisy as hell.

I have the vest, I bought it before the Bass Pro merger, so I assume it is the old style. It is warm and I never noticed the noise, but my ears ring a bit anyway. It is heavy, but no wind gets through. I will have to check out the new stuff.

Old stuff here and zero complaints. Sad to hear the new stuff might not to up to standards.

Noisy and heavy. That's why I went to Sitka Gear and no wind.

From: fdp

Scheel's offers a similar product that is of higher quality.

From: sammyg

Before the merger with Bass Pro I bought probably 90% of my hunting clothes from Cabelas. But since that time and merger I think that the quality and selection have went way down hill.

It's a well made garment that blocks wind very good. I rarely wear mine as I can get alternative clothing that is just as warm and windproof...without the weight.

I haven't noticed mine being noisy but I used to wear it only on the coldest most blustery days

The garments I have suited my needs very well but mine are probably before the merger, I haven’t bought any lately. Never noticed noise being an issue.

I wanted the vest. (Old stuff). The fit was horrible! Large to tight. XL way to big! Got the old berber fleece jacket. XXL! I normally wear XL. Code of Silence perfect fit! Cabelas went to crap!

From: White Falcon

I have the full set, never any noise. Great clothing.

From: 4nolz@work
Date: 29-Nov-24

I have the full set since they came out 10+ years. No complaints warm and quiet.

From: Therifleman
Date: 29-Nov-24

I wear the Cabela's day in and day out in the deer stand. It's quiet and does a better job of blocking wind than anything else I've used. I'm positive it's never spooked a deer from noise for me--- even on those dead quiet late season evenings. Great stuff!

From: Jed Gitchel

Wooltimate is awful stuff. It's so bad infact if you are unlucky enough to have gotten stuck with a vest in xl I would be kind enough to let you get some of your money back. I'll probably just throw it away but I'm the kind of guy who wants to help you out.

this stuff is warm,, but VERY heavy to walk around in,,last time i used mine , it was very cold out and just for practice,, i tried to pull my bow back, only got half way, switch to first lite,

Code Of Silence! If you want the Berber Wool.

From: Broadside
Date: 29-Nov-24

I'm very happy with my wooltimate. It's very quiet, in fact none of the deer I've missed this year heard me draw....

From: Papadeerhtr

Best clothing I've owned for hunting. Extremely warm and quiet.

From: BEARMAN Compton's Traditional Bowhunters

I had a coat and it wasn’t very warm. Looked at the tag and found out it was only like 30% wool. Sold it and switched to Asbell wool and sleeping Indian wool. Way warmer for me.

From: B.T.
Date: 29-Nov-24

Is this Wooltimate? Its a never used Cabelas XL vest 93% wool 7% polyester, It’s washable wool.

From: fishin coyote
Date: 29-Nov-24

I have the pullover. It’s about 6-7 years old. I’ve never had any issues with noise.

From: wooddamon1 Compton's Traditional Bowhunters

Never found the older stuff noisy. Warm but bulky. I like Code of Silence more now, less bulk and dead quiet. Good sales often as well.

Jed, you're generosity and helpful nature is what all of us should strive for ;)

I have used the pants and vest and coat for years. great product.

From: Jed Gitchel
Date: 29-Nov-24

Lol I really like my wooltimate jacket. The pants I'm not sold on but just because of the weight. Overall I think it is a great product at a reasonable price. I haven't tried the rest of the wool products just because of the money. I like Asbell until it drops under thirty five or so.

From: Brockett

My coat and 1/4 zip pullover were purchased in the last couple of years. I don't have a problem with the wind shear membrane making any noise. I find the clothing warm and very quiet and windy proof.

From: soldier

I use mine bowhunting in late season and have never had an issue with noise. Some people could hunt naked and claim their skin is too noisy.

From: Scotsman

Wooltimate with windshear is my very favorite coat. Light weight, good fit and absolutely quiet.smooth lining in the sleeves makes esasy on /off. Large fits perfect (IM 42 chest) with just enough extra for layering. Last year I hunted a snowy stand in Montana with temps in the low teens. Just a light silk base, pendleton wool shirt and the Wooltimate kept me warm and dry. Great stuff.

From: selstickbow

I like it. MINE's older stuff.

Good stuff. Keeps me warm in northern MN.

I had a set about 2 - 3 years ago and it was very loud, almost comically so. I sent it back after a couple days of trying to convince myself it was fine, but couldn’t.

I just got the vest and I am really liking it. Thought about getting the pants also.

From: Longtoke
Date: 01-Dec-24

I have the half zip hoodie, i got it around 2017 or so. I like it alot for an outerlayer. quite, blocks the wind, doesnt reflect light. its a bit bulky but other than that its everything I would want in an outer layer for bow hunting.

From: BigStriper1
Date: 01-Dec-24

I have a 2XL vest that I really liked but am not useing it anymore, since I got my Sitka. I've had it for 6 or 8 years. Kurt

I have the pants and jacket and have used them for some years now. An excellent product IMO. You can hear the slithery sound of the wind breaking layer in your collar but, only you can. II’ve shot several deer at close range while wearing it and none have noticed. Even asked a couple buddies and the cannot hear it. Great gear.
