What terms did you search for??
Or maybe someone will remember who did that sort of thing, like Jawge, perhaps?

Strapping/banding is spring steel. It can be very sharp, although hard to get sharp. Many commercial heads used spring steel blades.

What Bob says, Massie describes how he did it in his book. He used strapping from containers that came by ship to Alaska.

Anything you find can be used for a game head. A car key killed rabbits for me

Jay also used strapping from railroad shipments. Any heavy gauge strapping will work. Check the dumpsters at any company that ships or receives heavy equipment or heavy electrical components and they'll most likely use it.

I found a signed copy of his book in a thrift shop. It describes his process very well. It's quite simple and just uses propane torches in a way that would make a metallurgist shudder. His words. lol

Yea I remember that is his book he took field points then cut a groove in them for the blade .I made a few that way but I used hard .045 shim stock .They work fine I silver soldered mine together.

Yes, they were just slotted field points with the blades soldered in and I think also pinned with a finishing nail.

I've hafted a few dozen trade points made from old skilsaw blades. I gave a couple heads to JBM a few years ago. He can attest to just how good they are.

I made small game broad heads for squirrels using the heavier gauge banding steel pinned and soldered or epoxied into the slot in a .357 case and it worked well. Think the material is too low in hardness to use for a big game broad head in my opinion

Rich Burleson, Burleson longbows built a die to stamp broadheads out of banding. He gave it to the late Jerry Brumm. IDK where it is now but its probably still in Jerry's shop at home. We used them mounted them the same as you would any trade point or stone head for that matter. Worked good on small game. Never tried them for anything larger. I'll dig some out and post a photo when I find some.
