An old friend called yesterday all upset, his son just bought this Black Widow bow from another friend and hung it up in the shop.

His rambunctious dog was jumping around and knocked the bow off the wall, it hit a cinderblock on the way to the floor.

I am a selfbow guy and not up on what can be repaired on a laminated bow, this one looks bad to me.

Anybody know someone who could repair this damage?

Contact Black Widow they might do it for you.

This is a left-handed bow so the damage is on the back.

I must be looking at it wrong because that damage looks like it's on the belly top portion?

Left handed bow, the rest is on the right side.

The part of the limb closest to the shooter is the belly. It can be refinished.

It looks like the glass is split....and MAYBE the lamination under it. I'd have to have the bow in my hands to say for sure...but maybe. It APPEARS that the damage is confined to an area of the limb that isn't highly stressed.

I would be tempted to contact Black Widow as well.

I've heard more than a few stories of BW repairing bows for folks who weren't the original owners.

There is only one way to find out and that is to contact BW. Sounds like probably worth the effort

I put my opinion in other thread. >>>----> Ken

Exactly that's what I'm saying ,damage is on the belly not back ,the back is where you would put snake skins ,its the part away from you when shooting...the belly is on the string side !LOL

I'd squeeze epoxy in clamp it and clean it up best you can and shoot it. If you want it pretty send it to a pro. Shane at Great Plains does beautiful work.

Yep. Very little stress there. The riser is stiff behind the glass/lams. Epoxy will fix that. Do it yourself or send it to BW.

I believe it can be repaired, might have to reshape the damaged area a little. It would cost a couple hundred dollars but when it came back from Black Widow it would look like a New bow after they refinish the whole bow. My buddy just got his 20 year old riser and limbs they took weight off of and Refinished and you couldn't tell it from a New bow. I would talk with them about it. Kurt

My mistake, senior moment, the damage is on the belly.

Super glue + gorilla tape = good to go!! … couldn’t resist lol

Wow that doesn't look good. It wood definitely have some cosmetic issues to try and hide. After repairing it. Looks like it could be repaired. But it won't look like it was before the issue. It's going to need some alternative repairing and painting to hide the repairs. That's my truthful opinion. JF/BMB

I got a message from the dad, he contacted Black Widow, they said they would make the bow look like new for $325, the bow is headed to BW.

touchdown,,, it'll probably be back before ya know it. BTW, not a bad deal $325. x2 Andy Man.

It might take a couple of months but Black Widow will make it look like new.

From: Bob Rowlands

I'm no bowyer. I wouldn't begin to consider trying to effect a repair on a BW. If I owned that bow it would be headed to BW. The wait wouldn't bother me. If there's a bow company that will take care of you it is BW.

Dang, I thought that was a $50 job. >>>-----> Ken
