Where would one find long tapered glue in inserts for Ribtek 160 grain broadheads, the standard ace brass inserts are stubby and only partially fit the taper. The aluminum screw in adapters are only slightly longer. Is there a recommended long taper insert available? I should probably mention that it’s for a .244-.246 id shaft.

So it’s a 6.5 mm OD like most “trad” arrows, yes?
The Ace glue-in brass inserts are probably pretty long at 125 grains; honestly, I’d expect them to be designed to fill their own ferrules... I gave been shooting long 100 grain steel and the long aluminum screw-ins since I had a short, steel glue-in drive into the ferrule of one of my Ace BH.
To be fair, there’s no way in the world to hit anything that hard on an animal, with a stopping distance of perhaps 2mm at best, so I haven’t rushed out to buy brass ones. I may just switch from a 100 gr steel adapter with a 135 Standard to a 75 gr brass adapter with a 165. But I don’t need to go any heavier than that…

The 5/16” long screw-in adapter will be your best bet. Because of the smaller diameter they will go the farthest into the Ribtek ferrule. Just use lots of hot melt when installing so it squeezes out and fills all the ribs.

Kelly, I need something that will reach the fore end of the rib ferrule like you said, otherwise there’s a big gap up front and needs to be filled up with hot glue. I may have some aluminum 5/16 screw in adapters somewhere. I wonder what is the difference in length between the 5/16 and 11/32 aluminum adapters from zwickey.

The overall length may be the same but the 5/16 will seat farther into the broadhead, especially with your skinny shaft.
