The Minuteman thread got me thinking about this old compound handle I have and if those limbs would fit. It's a mid 70's Ben Pearson that was my first compound and also being LH but right eye dominant my first attempt to switch sides. I had it in my hatchback to shoot after work and went to take it out and the solid glass limb had snapped off.

Riser looks to be straight and measures 20" between inside curved edges of slots so maybe equivalent of a 21" riser? Limbs are 1.5" wide and 1/4" thick and there's about 1/8" play for thickness. I love the feel of the grip.

Other than Sage limbs on a Black Bear riser I have never looked at the other limb options out there for frankenbows. Could other low end limbs be modified to fit and what length and weight limbs would make sense for this riser profile and length to get about 40# at 28"?

Sure it'll work. As long as you can get the limbs mounted solid to the riser.

Only one way to find out You could buy a cheap pair of Samick Sage limbs or maybe make a trade for limbs on our swap and trade thread.

I found Jim Casto's ILF chart with riser, bow and limb options and measurements. Based on that this looks like a 25" riser.

Are limbs lengths measured end to tip or along the limb?

ILF limbs are 23-24-25 inches for short-medium-long, measured ALONG LIMB from ILF fitting hole center to far edge of string nock.

if anyone around you in driving distance has a SAGE bow or limbs, or Black Hunter bow or limbs, you can fit it in riser and see what it is like, what it needs, etc. DEPENDING on how much space is in riser limb pocket, might sand belly side of a limb butt to fit IN THERE......
