My new targets arrived, I was using ping pong balls and I found these 1.5” foam balls on eBay. They should last the fall and maybe winter?

I hang them on a piece of monofilament and use my bag target as a backstop. The ping pong balls are good but don’t last that long. These might be a mess.. l will soon see.

I don’t want to be my usual cranky self on this, but those things are going to shatter into small bits, which will never, ever go away. They’ll just turn into more micro plastic to end up in the water, soil, fish, critters, etc.
100% recommend the Wiffle practice golf balls. They’re really tough and last a long time. Easy to hang from a string, too….

A Sportsman Club near me had a floating ping pong novelty shoot I won a few years ago that was fun. I even told them to keep the prize money for winning. It was just fun to shoot.

I also shoot at regular size tennis balls or the bigger tennis style balls. I can throw them around the yard and shoot at them.

“Bigger” tennis balls??? Is that a Pickleball thing? (Maybe that game’s not entirely useless after all! ;) )
I used to shoot tennis balls with judo points just about 100% of the time (at least when I wasn’t shooting beer cans, LOL); you can’t beat them for keeping your shot distances fairly random. One word of caution, though… There was just that one time when I topped one a little bit and the judo hopped back up and sailed off into the next-door neighbor’s compost pile. Just a little bit of a pucker factor on that one!
One other really great thing about tennis balls, though, is that they are great practice for bunny hunting. Just give them a swift kick, reset your feet and take the shot before the ball can slow down too much. Loads of fun, provided you have a safe place to do it.. lumpier ground under the grass or an area covered in bunch-grasses will make it a lot more interesting, and the odd thing is that a lot of times my hit rate went up when the ball took an unexpected hop at the last instant. I guess that’s just the surprise factor grabbing and focusing my attention on the ball.

Pickleballs are like wiffle balls. Bigger tennis balls??? They are constructed and made with the same materials as the regular size tennis balls but twice as big. I don't have a clue what they are used for, but they make great and inexpensive targets to throw around the yard to shoot at. I own an acre and a half plus I have a couple hundred acres right behind my house and I get along great with all my neighbors, so I have a lot of space to shoot safely.

Just keep rubbing it in, Frank! LOL — I don’t think I miss ANYTHING quite as much as being able to shoot in my own yard….
But I guess I shouldn’t complain….

I got two 3D deer targets (outside), two large bag targets (one in my 20-yard indoor basement range and one outside for long shots) and I have regular and bigger tennis balls to shoot at, and I just bought a small target bag (pictured). "LOL" Never have an enough targets when you shoot every day. "LOL"

I bought some of those oversized tennis balls at Cabela's in Hamburg. That bright chartreuse makes them good targets.
