With 2024’s bow season set to start between 9/14 to 10/5 in Pa, Nj, Ny, Nc, Ohio, and Maryland, as well as many other states, I am sure a lot of leather wallers are chomping at the bit! Because I went on my South African bow hunt last September and came home to an immediate job change, I only got (2) days of bow hunting for deer in. The season before I got (0) days in due to issues with a knee replacement. This season I will be working on a project in NJ and this will allow me to hunt some places I use to hunt on both sides of the river when I lived in Nj & Pa area. It will also allow me to get my camp in north central Pa each weekend. That being said and after seeing many photos of the great bucks that Nemophilist has taken over the years and posted over the last year. I thought it would be fun to post some photos of the past with the hopes that others will also post their past successes. The idea is to pump us up a little before the season and encourage everyone to put a little extra effort into their shooting and preseason prep work. A lot of great guys do CD’s shot of the day as a way to get ready for that big moment that may only happens once a season. Good luck to everyone and I hope people will add photos and join in on the shot of the day! Thanks - Joe

Buddy I couldn’t be more excited for the up coming season myself!! My kid is 18 now and so I am free as a bird to come and go and hunt as much as I want. I get out at 2 so I can hunt every evening I want plus weekends.

Good luck to you and everyone!

Love the ladies also Murph! Hey it is great to get a big buck, but my dad use to say - a buck is a buck is buck. Same with a doe, if you work and make a good effort every deer is a well earned trophy! I hope others join in with big buck, smaller buck, does! Let get pumped up for a great year for all our men and women and youngsters here on the Wall.

Joe, The early archery season starts in my area September 21st and runs until November 29th. I can't wait to get out in the woods after them bucks again. Also, in my area the early archery deer and archery bear seasons run together. Not a lot of bears in my area but they show up sometimes like these ones in the pictures that weren't far from my house. I always get my bear license in case one shows up when I'm bowhunting them bucks. :) I killed a couple black bears bowhunting in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia Canada, but it would be nice to get a Pennsylvania black bear.

No doubt getting a beat in Pa is something I have tried to do. Both my dad & one brother have taken bears out of our camp. We have a lot of bear and some big boys. This year I will take two weeks off when the deer & bear seasons run together in 2G. If you get your buck early and have time, you would be welcome to join me while the archery bear season goes on. We will be setting up stands soon and we usually have 10 to 12 in areas where we see bears and deer. If you pm me I will give you my phone & email. Thanks - Joe

Joe thanks for the invite. I can't PM anyone anymore. I got the same glitch in the system as Phil Magistro and I believe 2 bears has.

Vaquero 45, that’s funny! My son was born in September about three weeks before I shot that big wide 6 point in the swamp behind my house in Nj. It was land locked and I had some good hunting there until it was sold during a divorce. That was thirty one years ago. Another picture is about (7) years later with my son and a Pa buck hanging in an apple tree in my mom’s yard in Philadelphia. I hope more folks will put up their pics. This is not some kind of ego post. I was thinking like preseason football, it could be a way for all of us to get fire up for the coming season. It’s been stinking hot or wet out and for a lot of us it’s hard to want to get out and practice or scout a little under these uncomfortable conditions. I was just thinking a little positive vibes might encourage us all. Good luck this season and thank you - Joe

Good thread. My upcoming season will look significantly different than it has the past 4-5 years. We will no longer be hunting west Texas and no plans on where to hunt. Lifestyle choices and situaitons change. Kind of the theory of life, but this was last years success.

Gotta love it, some awesome pics to get the blood stirred up. Some real beauts too! I remember a time when just seeing one was success, they were so few of them back then. Now that I can barely get around, they are everywhere. Thanks for the pics all, may you all enjoy a very successful season this year! Yeah Joe, I tell these guys not to apologize about a smaller deer with a bow, it is still a trophy plus you get to eat it.
