I was thinking of using some older Magnus heads that I have but they have bleeder blades. My sharpening of bleeders in the past has not been great. How do you get great results on sharpening bleeders?

On Zwickey 4-blade deltas, which are similar, I lightly file the bleeders or drag them backward on a honing stone.

I use a Dremel tool

For me the trick with all bleeders is to work them down to a very flat edge with a fine or medium bastard file or a stone, then Strope them.

You can also use a Lansky knife sharpener, this works great on bleeder blades and replacement blades like ones found on thunderheads and muzzys.

The cheap carbide sharpener or a small diamond sharpener.

6" mill bastard file, file into the blade not with it.

The bleeders on older Magnus come out. Remove them, then sharpen like a two blade and replace them.

After using zwickey's for 30 some odd years, I found that a 6 inch hook file works best for bleeders. Most places that sell musky or salt water gear carry them. Those files have fine sharp teeth, its doesn't take much elbow grease to get the bleeders sharp.

Flat Oregon chainsaw file works well. The flat file for filing the rakers. It has no file teeth on the narrow side.

This is what I use and it works great.

I should add that I put the broadhead in a vise with or without the shaft. Also, be very careful of the sharp main blades.
