I had an inexpensive internal frame day pack about 2,500 ci, from Bass Pro that I finally wore out. They no longer make it so I replaced with several over the years but unfortunately just haven’t found one with lots of pockets, good zippers, nicely padded waist belt and an internal frame. What do you find is your favorite day pack?

The Eberlestock X2 is the best that I have found so far. It is a great day pack that also allows you to pack a small load if needed.

Been using a Badlands Ultraday for lots of years. I had the Superday too but it was larger than I needed. Great packs. I still own four of them and never had a problem.

Kuiu has some really good packs. Are you dead set on internal frame? Not quartering/packing out games?

But you said you have try a few packs before, so maybe list some of the one you tried that you didn't like, pro/con etc, so we can recommend something that you have not try yet?

I have a Bison Gear pack. No internal frame, but very nice, adjustable waist belt and shoulder straps. Also contains a vynal bag for packing meat.

I use a Dayone fleece bag if I don’t have to carry much stuff, otherwise I like the Eberlestock X2

My daypack isn't as big as yours is. Mine is a Tactical 25L Molle Daypack. It's big enough to carry everything I'll need for a whole day or two of bowhunting. It has a lot of pockets and compartments. Plus, it is waterproof and quiet.

I do have a variety of other daypacks to choose from if need be.

SOC 3 day pass. I would like a couple different Bison Gear packs, they fit me better and the quality is great.

A Wallyworld sling pack. I don't carry half what I used to.... every ounce counts when you're an old geezer. But I don't stay out all day either. Hunt AM, then go back out for PM! Basically, just carry field dressing stuff, rain poncho and water bottle.

Depends on how I’m hunting. Small lightweight older Sitka backpack or small Fanny pack if I’m out for the day. Also a dedicated badlands treestand pack which I don’t do as much of anymore. Mostly using my Waldrop pack seat now and just put everything I need into the attached game bag.

I have a Bison Gear Lost River I use for extended 2-4 day hunts. Also, have a Badlands Diablo that is good for @3 days.

I haven't used a pack for many years. I have a small leather haversack or a larger Bison Gear haversack when weather changes, Carries everything I need.

I’ve had Badlands, Sitka, Eberlestock and the Red Head Bass Pro. I liked the number of pockets on the Redhead which I wore out. My Eberlestock would be perfect if it had more pockets as the frame and waist belt is great but I carry lots of stuff and it has to all go into just a couple of places so that’s why I prefer a pack with more pockets. The badlands I had years ago had a problem with the zipper covers. Not sure if they modified that but the zippers were the issue. My Sitka had the same “ not enough “ pockets problem. Thank you all for your input.

It's made by something Kelley or Kelley something or other. Wool and very quiet.

German military/alpine rucksack that I got from Cabelas at least 20 years ago! I've tried few others, always come back. Unreal what all I've done with this pack, it's more a part of me than a good knife! It's not most comfortable, no matter I'm never wearing it long periods! Can liad it with meat, 25lb corn, Lotta water make mineral licks, and it's still as good as ever. Only thing now, I'm going with a HH LB & Backquiver, so then I'm wearing either a Finnush military shoulder bag or Fieldline Slingpack.

Thanks guys. My day pack is for leaving my tent camp each day in the dark, and returning back to camp in the dark that night. So it’s rain gear, lunch, 2 Nalgene water bottles , meat bags, extra bowstring, bow stringer, kniife, license, headlamp, cord, toilet paper, fire starter, space blanket, bow rain cover, 550 cord, flagging tape, Wind detector, extra tab, binos, range finder, battery pack + cord, hat, gloves and extra bottom and top layer for after the hike to stay warm. That’s why I like lots of pockets.

I've tried many different packs. Not the Bison, they are all so noisy. Noisy packs have cost me a chance at multiple deer and 2 elk.My search continues for a blader compatable, quiet pack.

For a daypack size Badlands Dash with a 3 liter Mil-spec Camelback bladder. A lot of space for a true daypack, has a built in provision to carry a bow, rifle or quiver. A handgun can be carried on the waist belt, and not a small one either, I have carried a 10mm or a S&W Trail-Boss .44 Mag with no issues.

Keith, The Bison Gear packs are made of wool. Nothing is quieter. Don't know if they are currently made though.

If you aren't packing meat you have a lot of options. where I hunt I'm not dragging a deer out so I use an Eeberlestock X2.

For what you mentioned -

"My day pack is for leaving my tent camp each day in the dark, and returning back to camp in the dark that night. So it’s rain gear, lunch, 2 Nalgene water bottles , meat bags, extra bowstring, bow stringer, kniife, license, headlamp, cord, toilet paper, fire starter, space blanket, bow rain cover, 550 cord, flagging tape, Wind detector, extra tab, binos, range finder, battery pack + cord, hat, gloves and extra bottom and top layer for after the hike to stay warm. That’s why I like lots of pockets."

- it doesn't sound like you'll need a pack with a frame. Most likely your extra clothes will take up the most space and you could always lash them on the outside.

To me the most important consideration is weight.

Just bought a 2300 ci KIUI , it’s a nice pack , probably larger than I need but went with larger rather than too small . I wanted something I can pack a jacket and vest and some lunch in for all day hunts It’s a nice pack although the zippers could be quieter. I mostly use a haversack for quick morning or evening hunts.

EXO Mountain Gear, made in Idaho, it's a 'system', the frame is all the same but you can install different bags - my system is the K3, but they are up to the K4 system now. The 2200 bag is basically a day pack, but you can install a bigger bag for backpacking if the need arises. The frame is lightweight and is designed to be able to carry a heavy weight - last year, I helped my buddy get a 330 bull out of a canyon in Utah, I hiked one front and one rear quarter out - the pack handled the weight no problem. Anyway, I use this for EVERYTHING now, and for backpacking I have a medium bag and a big bag, depending on how many days and how much stuff I want to bring. Slick as can be....

Here’s mine. For whitetails, It usually has my Lone Wolf strapped to it and I quarter animals and carry them out. Elk hunting it’s good For about 2-3 days.

I use a Johnson Woolen Mills wool backpack for a daypack and also use it attached to a Waldrop PacSeat. It is very lightweight and quiet and big enough to hold your list of items.

Badlands pursuit is a great one too. Highly recommend it. Rarely do I need a day pack but when I do I can fit a lot in it and well organized compartments. Can also strap stuff to it on bottom and face of pack.

Have a badlands monster Fanny pack too. Very well built products. Imo
