Hey all,

I'm a huge fan of Predator's Fall Gray camo & am going to need to replace my true cold weather gear here in the next year or so (20 degrees & under).

I currently have the original Sitka Fanatic set, and while it's been quite warm, it's insanely bulky + I can't stand the camo pattern. For what it's designed for it works pretty well, however after 8 some odd years of pretty heavy use it doesn't seem to be as warm as it once was.

In theory i'd just buy the new Fanatic set, but if i'm spending that kind of $ I want it in a pattern that I actually like, that blue and white berber fleece is awful looking to me.

So- i'm on the lookout for the company that has the warmest windproof clothing in Predator Fall Gray.

Thanks!

I'm not sure if the link will work that I posted but it's the company Predator Camo. I have a jacket and pants in the micro fleece fall gray pattern and they are warm. They actually have a warmer set now.

I'll try to post a pic or two

Is not too bulky, it's quiet and warm but it will pick up burrs.... most do though I guess.

I’m not sure that would cut the mustard sub 20 degrees here in Iowa with our humidity unfortunately

If you’re a wool fan, Grey Wolf Wool with the wind stopper lining.

From: Knifeman
Date: 20-Nov-23

There is no more wool at Greywolf Woolens. They only have the wolfskin material in Predator, but it is an awesome product made by great people. Get the loft insulation and windproof lining, it is amazing stuff. Handmade and custom fit if you go that route. Made to last a lifetime.

I've worn it here in PA in our second season in the single digits and it worked for me but what works for me might not work for you.

Same stuff as Supernaut, Predator Stealth fleece with windstopper. I wear merino wool base layers under it and can stay warm down to some fairly cold temps here in western MI.

I think I’m turning into a nance I guess haha.

I saw the Gray Wolf stuff, I’m just hesitant to buy without being able to try it on first-and I’m not sure it would be warmer than the Sitka I currently have

Heater body suit if you are sitting on stand.

I doubt that you will find anything in predator gray that is warmer than the fanatic....I have the original hidden wolf woolens without the wind stopper. its great stuff but the wind blows thorough it and its bulkier and heavier thank the fanatic.... I have the first light and had the day one camo custom made ... The best of them all is the fanatic for me.. Im surprised you think its bulky. I wear the fanatic with heavy underwear and a heated vest under it and thats it. Thats good for all day sits in Canada and ND until it gets below 10 F after that I have to get into the bag.... I hope that helps I went down the same road love the predator camo but its not offered by enough quality companies... Pm me if ya want. good luck... Bryan

It should be more than enough for our Texas winters in the 30's

I live and hunt in Iowa & it can get brutally cold, is usually windy + we still have humidity in the winter so we get the worst of all most winters.

I work in an office so I’m sure that has something to do with my inability to tolerate cold like I used to

I think Sitka upgraded the Fanatic line about 3 or 4 years ago and it gets excellent reviews. I'm not a fan of the camp pattern either but the animals that get killed by the guys wearing it don't seem to mind.

I've been thinking of picking up the Fanatic hoodie in the solid green color and I just missed a great black Friday deal on it... I'm going to keep my eye out for another one.

Check out the Kiui Proximity review thread over on Bowsite as well, some good info. It's not Fall Gray camo but it's a better pattern than the Sitka in my opinion.

Yes sir I have the Proximity & really like the jacket & bibs, however for me much under 30° and I’m going to get cold

What I may have to do is buy some better mid layer pieces more suited to whitetail hunting.

I have the attack pants & peloton jacket, and while both very nice early to mid season, as layering options for super cold weather I think I can find better suited options

Get a leafy suit and you can dress as warm as you need underneath..on really cold days I wear and die Bauer down coat, super warm. The ASAT leafy covers it all. The leafy allows you to dress as you need and your always covered, I use the ASAT leafy, I think it's the best but buy the one you like.

3 words. Gray wolf woolens. Order it now have it made for next season. Will cost you a grand... but imo worth it.

I have the fleece and love it! Keeps me toasty during the second season in Pa..

We're pretty humid here as well, some nice 320-350 weight merino bases from First Lite (Furnace) or Merino Tech (much less expensive, Amazon) over some lighter weight wicking merino bases under the Predator fleece stuff really is very warm and not overly bulky. I've worn this combo down into single digit temps quite a few times for a few hour sits and been very cozy provided I didn't let myself get over-heated on the hike in.
