Hatrick showed me a picture Thursday of a really nice buck he shot this week with a longbow of his own making. He is not the bragging type of guy and doesn't come here often so he probably won't post the picture.

Rich, you make me feel bad now. I actually did post a "brag" picture on the 2023-24 Harvest Thread already. Got a little full of myself since it was such a great day for me. My goal was to get this years deer with one of my longbows so it worked out pretty well. Especially happy with the shot placement.
Rich (reddogge) was referring to our monthly "Bowmans Luch." We have a fantastic group of aging stickbow guys that meet to shoot the bull and talk hunting. Usually 7-8 of us there and always a great time. At 70 I'm actually the younger of the bunch most of the time. Rich is the one that should be bragging about the beautiful decoys he carves.
Hey Scott, great to hear from you. Hope all is well and you're getting a chance to take a Northern Mist out in the woods for some well earned hunting time. Buddy, retirement has got to be getting close!
And yes bodymanbowyer, the spot where I shot him is definitely top secret. Best on the property by far.

One lam of curly maple under clear glass and 2 lams of black walnut. The riser block was spectraply I believe and this piece was a bear to work with. Every time I sanded into the wood the glue gummed up my sanding papers. Maple and black walnut stripes were added.
