pitchfork works around here for those varmints!

There are traps designed to be used in the tunnel. My wife "catches" several a year. The other good thought would be to open one end of the tunnel up, and pop it with a judo when it peeks out.

I use the hoop trap with great results on them big footed goofy looking rodent's. That looks like a tough spot for one though.

I have them too, they are a PIA. But if you have a lot of them plus Groundhogs which we do around here, one of these Rodentators would be fun. Wear goggles, keep your mouth shut, and it looks like in some cases a steel cup might not be a bad idea. MAP gas and O2 git'r done.

Well, I'm a little slow so I'm glad to see some got it and enlightened me. I thought we were going to have to put in an anonymous call to Crimestoppers and report somebody stalking joggers!

I shot one years ago with my bow. I was in the back yard shooting targets and happened to see the grass moving as it tunneled along. So I shot right there and got the rascal. Probably a 2 1/2 ft shot.

I found a nest of seven star nose moles in a woodchip pile beside my garden last year. I was able to get some good pictures and video of them. Very interesting little creatures you don't get to catch and hold very often. The claws are huge and the star nose is like nothing I have ever seen and you can see where their eyes used to be. I thought about killing a couple and skinning them to make my own moleskin but decided to let them go. When I was younger if it was legal I killed it. Nowadays I kill what in my opinion needs to be killed. Good Day

I killed a mole at 150 yards with my bow!

I was out in the field practicing for our upcoming archery golf event. I'd send a random arrow then see how well I could group around it. I pulled an arrow from the soft ground and it had blood all over the first couple inches. Cool.

Well the hunt is over. After getting a shovel, and pitchfork, chair to wait it out. My wife come out to see what I was doing. Well I guess the mole will live. She thinks it will leave.

It won't leave, but you made the best decision and will learn to live with the free aeration of your yard.

If they would only aerate your yard and not destroy it that would be fine, but until I started trapping them this summer, they had my yard about destroyed, and when I mowed it felt like I was on a moter cross course w/ all the mounds and soft tunnels. Never again

I find them dead often while walking my dog.The dog finds them first and likes to roll them.I always wonder what killed them? I NEVER SEE ANY CATS WHERE i walk and any other predator I think would eat them after the kill.Anyone have an answer?

@mamba-ny I've seen dogs dig them up and use them as a toy, rather violently. Yet to see one get eaten by a dog, though.
