Always neat to see them, cool pic.
I worked and stayed in Ohio about 7-8 years ago near Powhattan Point, never saw so many bobcats. I was told by a local that the Ohio game department (not sure if that's the correct name) turned loose a pile of them in the area. I don't know how true this was but we sure did see alot of bobcats while we were driving and along the right of ways we were working.

nice to see them. I called one in while calling coyotes in the snow 3? years ago. fun to watch, coyotes come busting in most of the time, not so the cat, bet it took 20 minutes to come in from where I first saw it. sneakey suckers.

Gary, you could have shipped that to Frisky. He'd give big bucks for it. Would do at least twice as many hunting clothes as Fatso, the smellier the better. I get a half dozen or so game cam pics per year. Funny, the well-muscled ones that look to be on steroids are ususally the dead of winter pics. The scrawnier ones will be warm weather. You'd think that would be reversed. Must be the juvenile offspring.

They were, and may still be, regularly sighted over in Pike, Adams, Jackson, and Ross counties. We used to see them, or their tracks pretty frequently when I was working up there.

I was in Athens Co. for 3 years 25 yrs. ago. Hunted quite a bit, saw tracks in a creek bed once and that was it. Didn't know any were released in OH, I thought it came W. VA. they should flourish in that part of the state.

Mike E - They were not released in Ohio, a few even when I was a kid were still around, but most migrated in from surrounding states... There may have only been a handful at one time in Ohio, but they never were exactly extinct in Ohio, they've always been here it just the population has grown to the point of being seen...

Well I'm glad they're here. Doubt if I'll see any No. Central-ish part of the state. The south eastern part of the state is a much better environment for them I would think, still a lot of secluded area there, plenty of food source for them. I see they're protected (no trapping or hunting, not even mentioned) according to the regs.

I was born in 1959 and as a kid growing up in Tuscarawas County during the 60's there were reports of a couple on a local farm and my grandfather who farmer talked about neighboring farmers seeing and hearing them before I was born... He called them wildcats as he also called skunks polecats...8^)))
Then as a teen owned and ran coonhounds and one of my coon hunting buddies treed one in the mid-70's...Through the years you'd hear about somebody seeing one now and again, and then probably around the late 90's another friend treed one with his dogs and took a picture of it... It wasn't until trailcams came out and became popular did some get caught on film, so they've always been here at least in my area... As said the roadkilled one I photographed this spring was hit just down the road and the past couple summers a black bear has been running the hills around my house... Bobcats, bears, coyotes, foxes, skunks, mink, weasels, birds of prey, and an OVERpopulation of raccoons, no wonder I haven't seen a wild turkey around my house in the woods in probably about 5 or 6 years...8^(((

I see them nearly every year while deer hunting in Arkansas, anymore. Not that many people trap for furs nowdays in my area, and I don't know if they have much in the way natural enemies. Of course varmint hunters will take a few.
I had one mounted, several years ago. Haven't killed one since.
