Yesterday on the club woods course leaving butt #2 I rounded a big pine and just off the path was this. Just as I realized what it was it struck out at me. It's tail was vibrating like a rattler and in the leaves sounded like one. Took a few pictures and it struck out a couple more times. Picked up the bow and walked by it along the outside of the path and it struck again. This Northern Black Racer was just being defensive but it was determined to stay in place and fight.

The old Poplar tree 1st pic, has survived a lightning strike and several controlled burns and keeps on keeping on...sort of like some of our elders who endure tough times. I look at this monarch of the edge of the woods and it gives me hope to keep going as well.

Hi FOLKS! Many thanks for the GREAT PHOTOS! I have been having lousy luck with my internet and NOT being ABLE to look at LEATHER WALL stuff. Do have some kind of WI-FI gadget on the way and I hope to solve the problem for GOOD! A day without LEATHER WALL is like having a migraine, bad tooth-ache and nasty ear-ache all at the time time! Saw a deer on my dirt drive-way! Looked BIG and healthy! Surprised since the deer have been shy pretty much? Maybe just staying the shade from the awful heat? I think that the deer was headed for a pool formed by my "SOME-TIME-CREEK" that flows through the land?? Y'ALL BE WELL / SAFE / COOL / BLESSED BE!
