Tuning arrows for my Caribow Taigaex. Bow is 45lb at my draw. The bows I've been shooting are heavier in draw weight, but not cut as far past center. I have plenty of 500 spine arrows and generally shoot 225- 240 grains of insert and point weight total. 500s way to weak. Tried build out shelf, but still weak. Got some 400s got them flying great ,nock are straight and impact is perfect. But I'm getting an arrow that flies nock low. I've been moving my nock points ,got up to 1" above. Historically with most of my bows I usually end up around 5/8" above. Any suggestions.

Shooting split or 3U? At what draw length? I'd try some of those 500's with about 100 gr. less weight up front just to see what happens unless you're adamant about high FOC. 5/8ths inch is about where I've netted out with 90% of the bows I've ever owned. The only time I've had to deviate from that is when I experimented with high FOC for a while. I'd also check at different yardage to make sure you're not seeing nock low in a "porpoising" cycle at that particular range. You said they are "flying nock straight", so I'm a bit confused why you say they are oriented low in the target.

Stay at 5/8" and then tune out the real problem. Brace height and nock tightness would be the two to play 28th first. You need to give more information/specs.

To many unknows in your question! 1. what is your draw length? 2. what is the arrow length? 3. you shoot split or 3 under? 4. What is the shaft diameter? 5. Are the arrows hitting the line, i.e. do the impact to the left, right or right on a verticle line, point of aim? 6. are the arrows porpoising in flight or just flying nock low?

I install two string nocks, one above and one below.

Answering Bob's questions would go a long way toward people being able to provide meaningful suggestions.

Sorry been rolling all day. I shoot 3 under for last 6 years. Shot split for 10 before that. My draw is 27 3/4 . The 400s shot best at 29 1/4". I may have found my problem. My bottom tied on nocking point was sliding down at the shot. Been raining all day. Will put on some masking tape points until I tune better and then retie. I've always been the one who thought folks were trying to shoot to heavy a spine out of mid 40# bows. But this bow shoots a 500 very weak. Thanks

YMMV, but what few times I recall having a lower nock set move down the string and the arrow nock was loose enough on the string to slide down, the nock end was hitting the shelf and kicking up causing the arrow to impact low with the nock end high, not low.
