Today's shot will be the horizontal obstruction shot from 30 yards. Have something at about 15yards that blocks your line of sight to the target but allows a clear path for the arrow to arc over it to the target.... it hard to focus on you spot (because you can't see it!) and let your computer between your ears make the adjustments for the shot! Have fun!

God bless,

CD

As called, mostly. To get the obstruction at 15 yards, I had to make it a 39-40 yard shot.

The setup:

Wilson was hung on a string in the center of the old bale back in the shade, just visible through the goalposts of the near bale frame. Shot taken from the arrow in the ground.

The result: Wilson lives

Thanks for the great call CD!

Thanks for the call CD! I set the garbage can at 15 yards, left the gate closed and shot from closer to 32 yards so I couldn’t see the kill zone. Missed a little low while shooting a cedar arrow from the 50# Herter’s. Have a good day everyone! I’ll post the set up first and the results second. Lance

To lazy to do a set up so I used natural foliage and made it hard on myself. Over the tall grass and between 2 trees about 10" apart. To my astonishment I not only hit the bag but was just 4" high. Here's the shot.

Snow Crows set up for the shot of the day is a neat idea

Rivercain- Only problem was the overhead obstruction (branches) I didn't account for: arrow disappeared just past the apex, heard a tick and saw leaves shake, and then the tracer poofed out left of Wilson.

Pays to be lucky once in a while!
