Hello all, I tried the search function and didnt seem to find anything. Does anyone know which bow on the 3Rivers Spine Calculator would be closest to a Toelke Whip? probably 62" as well if possible. Thanks in advance!

Woodsman: The length of the bow has nothing to do with the arrows spine requirement! You need to know the bow weight at your draw, how deep the shelf is cut and the material the bow string is made of. That will put you in the ballpark.

Try 'generic recurve'.

Correction. Enter 'generic longbow'.

If you are going to use a calculator use the one Rick Barbee has on his site. It has the Toelke bows as an option and it's more up to date any way.

I use generic longbow, but for centershot my Whip is cut to .ooo" and braces at 7.75". It has a 10 strand string.

I would try calling Dan to ask what arrow will work in that bow...or what the specs are to enter into the Stu Miller calculator?

Thanks for the replies and info. Much appreciated.

Recognize that Stu Miller gave up on updating that calculator long ago. I always felt the most important factor was the final adjustment to your form of up to 15 pounds. Seems to me that doesn't appear in the abbreviated 3 Rivers version.

I've successfully used Stu's calculator to make wood arrows for many years. I inked Stus chart for all our bow weights/ point weight on the garage drywall above my bench for fast reference. It's spot on for wood arrows.
