Well I have another tool that will be with me in the woods and street daily. CIVVI Voltaic! The is a Kershaw Blackout for reference.

N I C E

Do they both have Black Ti coating or is it just the picture?

Blades are both black coated.

Nothing wrong with a kershaw, my daily carry and has been for quite a few years. Good looking blade!

Like the Kershaw allot, has been my EDC since 2000, but the CIVVI is so smooth.

Nice looking knives.

Kershaw has seen it's share of the inside of hogs, I'm sure the CIVVI will follow suit.

IMO Civivi knives are the best bang for your buck today. Good steels with good heat treatment : D2, S35vn, smooth opening on bearings, good choice of scales : micarta, G10 and some exotic woods.

Great.

The Voltaic has a Micarta option, like it allot. My feelings exactly of the quality for the dollar.

I have always liked Kershaw. Nice.

Kershaw has been a real workhorse, easy to sharpen. CIVVI is so smooth and hope to get it bloody soon.

From: Bill Rickvalsky

Both are nice workhorse knives. I've always been a Kershaw fan. I will have to take a look at CIVVI. My current EDC is a Kershaw Grip.

I've been carrying a Kershaw Link blackout as an EDC for a couple years. It's similar to the one above. I like that it has the pocket clip and assisted opening. When I reach for it my index finger goes right to that helper tab and it's out and ready for business in 2 seconds flat.

Both have quick out feature. CIVVI is very smooth and quiet. Kershaw Blackout comes out blazing.

I had one of those, gave it to a friend cause liked the Blackout better.

I’ve been carrying a civivi elementum for about 2 years now. Love it! The flipper action is so smooth and fast, you’d think it was spring assisted. When I eventually replace it with another EDC knife, it will likely be another civivi.

Nice folders. Off topic, I carry folders with the pocket clip down in pocket. Or just remove the clip.

Ive been running a Civivi Elementum with the push button lock....absolute best value in a knife.Made as well as alot of the high dollar and up blades at a fraction of the cost.

Gone to carrying both, so I don't have to chose.

I've carried a Kershaw for many years, but you have to make sure its really a Kershaw, there are a lot of knockoffs on the market and its really difficult to tell the difference between them until you discover they will not hold an edge! I had one with that issue I complained to the manufacture, they asked me to send them a closeup Photo of it. I received a reply within 24 hrs, that was in fact a knockoff. When I purchased the real thing and compaired it to mine the differences were very apparent. The box and literature were exactly the same.

Mine holds an edge a long time, also stamped made in USA. Cleaned and skinned an 80 pound hog once.

Michael: The knockoffs are also stamped Made in USA!

I'm pleased with my two, the way they sharpen up, and hold an edge. Workhorse of a knife, hoping the CIVVI holds up as well.

Thinking of getting this Civivi for my Wife for EDC. She has a pink camo Buck knife now but purple is her favorite color. May have to give them a try also. Currently carry a Kershaw but I like new knives.

Went ahead and ordered the purple one for the Boss Lady and got this one for myself. Gave me a Military discount too through Gov X.

Nothing wrong with USA made Kershaw or CIVVI. Both blades are acea.

Is the Civvi made in the U.S. too?

From: CStyles
Date: 18-May-23

No, they are made in China. Some Kershaw are too. I only buy the US made Kershaws. One time I bought a China made Kershaw, the spring broke after a couple of months. Civivi are supposed to be very well made knives.

From: Jeff Durnell
Date: 18-May-23

Thanks Chuck. They may be very good but I try not to patronize China.

I prefer USA made, but with a global economy it is next to impossible to purchase products that are 100% USA made. But we do our best.

Have a Benchmade bugout and CIVIVI Praxcis headed this way.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I stand corrected the Kershaw knife I displayed is the "Knockout". Chalk it up to many years and and beers.

My replacement Bugout arrived.

From: soldier

I purchased one before I realised it was Chinese made. I must say the knife is sharp and well made, one of the smoothest opening knifes that I have ever used. We shall see how it holds up around the farm with lots of every day use.

I have used the Kershaw Knockout to clean and skin hogs, it comes through like a champ. The CIVIVI blade seems to be well made and I am confident it will perform well in field dressing and skinning tasks.

I am partial to USA made Kershaws, here is one of my favorites. Civivi does have a good reputation, let us know how yours holds up.

I'm also a Kershaw USA fan. I'd hopefully get a field test of the CIVIVI soon.

I think you’ll be pleased. IMO, you won’t find a better knife, for the $, made ANYWHERE. Here are my three Civivis, top to bottom, Elementum, Pintail and Praxis.
