Built this all wood laminate bow a few months back and shared it with a few but never posted it. I had a strip leftover from ripping a board bow, one piece that cumulatively made two pieces to splice for the belly and a few slabs for the riser. Everything was hickory from menards, glued with leftover ea40 from my glass asl I did around Christmas. So I guess it’s all made from leftovers. 68” 45@26 with a slight dished grip.

We still have plenty of snow if you were wondering…it’s a good shooter and whisper quiet.

I “blocked” the ends of the lams in place when I laminated and glued it to keep from slipping apart and glued the solid riser on afterwards then shaped the fades with a chisel

Nicely done!

Thanks guys. It was a fun project, you can probably see the fitup isn't %100 perfect, so I rolled fine sawdust in epoxy to get %100 coverage and fill in the gaps. I'd rather have not done it that way, but you get what you get and it seems to be working.

Great looking leftovers!

My last two bow builds have been billet bows with Z spliced handles. I butchered both splices. Thank goodness for shims and void filling epoxy.

I tip my hat to anyone that can make a well fitting splice!

Every splice will get better. Just keep on keeping on. You can always heat the splice up with your heat gun and then clamp it tight. When it cools it will mate together better.

Looks like a good splice.

Splicing opens up a whole new world for staves. You will have a lot more options.

Looks good Cash! I'm watching it snow again down here in Skeetown. I hope spring falls on a weekend this year ;)
