Who makes a 100% wood bow? No bolt on limbs. No fiberglasss. No carbon. Can be a composite of 2 or more woods. Recurve of longbow.

James Parker, Mike Yancey, Arvin Weaver and a host of others. There was just a thread about this subject a few days ago and it ended up being quite a list.

JD Jones is the best I've ever known and he still charges the same prices that he did 20 years ago.

There's a bunch of guys that make their own self bows on here. Some are top notch bow makers like Pearl Drums, Jeff Durnell and Arvin just to name a few.

all 3 are very good and all 3 make entirely different styles of bows...

3 self bows and a Bamboo Ipe bow. Something about self bow hunting with a quiver full of cedar arrows.

I do and lots of other people I call friends. I’ve made somewhere around 100. Don’t really keep track. I just do it now because I like doing it. I started out because I wanted something to shoot my stone point arrows. The first time I shot one I was hooked.

Always hate listing names because I know I will miss someone.

PA Steve, RyanR, Pearl Drum, Badly Bent, PaulSemp, Arvin, Simson, Marc, MattW, Leonwood, Weylin, stixnstones, Bruce B, Pappy, Del the cat, wizard goat, Bubby, Will B. And more.

I consider them all good bowyers

There are probably many dozens of competent and expert self bowyers. Erik Krewson, Jawge and Badger have made a slug of them. So have I, but most of us don't make them to sell.

I have taught a few friends of mine wood bow making. Will B. is one of them. I have made a couple hundred to date. After I retired it was total therapy for me. Some weeks putting 40 to 50 hours in working on different bows in different phases. It is a great hobby. Sense of accomplishment when you take a white tail with your own bow. and arrow.

Reads like hard feelings to me, J johnston. You can make as many new handles as you'd like. Your personality will always shine through each one.

Great Northern made a "Classic" model that has no glass or carbon. I am not sure if you consider Bamboo to be all wood or not and I do not know if Eric the new owner at Great Northern is making the Classic model. There are a few in circulation but not a lot of them. Good Day

Many folks want to be a stickler for pointing out that bamboo is a grass rather than a tree but the material itself is still quite similar in its composition.

This is a Saluki Longbow made of Bamboo and Maple. I spoke to Lucas before buying this bow to make sure it was all natural materials. He said he built it using a boxed Japanese method many years ago before anyone was using this method of construction. I don't know exactly what that means, I just wanted to be sure there was no glass or carbon in the bow so I could use it in competitions that requires no manmade materials. Very fast and quiet bow. Good Day
