I just finished up my Hickory board bow. This is the first unbacked board bow I've ever made. I'm really happy with the way it turned out! 66",53#@26", 1 1/2"set, 1 3/8"@fade to 1/2" tips. Shoots good. Dyed it with Friebings Leather Dye, Black & Dark Brown. I burnished the back as several fellas suggested..K.T.

Thank you all for the nice comments! @ 70 I only make a couple of bows a year anymore so when I do make one I get pretty putzy with it. K.T.

well done, well done! it is a sharp looking bow. I don't have any place around here to find a hickory board or I would made one too. did you heat treat it? All that I can find around here is red oak boards.
