So I had to replace my old light bulbs that were years old with new ones. I used 3-200 watt bulbs in the oven and can only get the temperature up to 82 degrees. What gives. These bulbs don't get hot. What happened to the old bulbs that you could not touch? I don't know what to do now.

Ceramic heat emmiters will the trick. Your new bulbs are probably not the incandescent type they are becoming difficult to find. Gotta save the planet from climate change if you buy into that stuff.

Jess, Is there a specific one you use? I'm about to run out of my stock of 200 W bulbs and will need something.

They were incandescent but I could hold the in my hand after bering on for 1/2 hour. Not like the old lights when I was a kid. Got burned a lot changing bulbs. LOL. These were 200 watt incandescents but like I said not like the old ones.

What is a ceramic heat emitter. I thought about those lights they use for chicks but they won't get hot enough either or the chicks would die

the ceramic heat lights get up to 158 degrees. I need between 15-180. My old lights needed a thermostat they got so hot.

thanks for the help. I am going to get a few of them. May hook yup my thermostat. I have one from Bingham. Can I just run each wire from it into the cord for the light? I forget How my old one was wired. LOL.

Sounds like you bought LED bulbs,. 100 watt only gets to 84° 100 watt gets to 335°

Amazon has the heat emitters. They use them to keep reptiles warm. I bet pet stores would have them.

I have never heard of them before. Amazon has them for keeping your lizard warm.

Yep. Imma try em. The old bulbs are hard to find. I asked someone at Home Depot about them and she said they have been outlawed lol.

I stocked up when I heard they might stop making them.

They're still easy to find. Plenty of the old style on ebay.

Get em while they're 'hot'. :^)
