I made a new template for cutting feathers and it may be a whistler. I'll give it a go tomorrow and see if the local dogs react. It's 5" long and 3/4" high.

I have 5" shield that do not whistle, and every now and then will come upon one that does. Likely it has something to do with the base, rather than the shape of the feather. Test them all, and don't assume if one whistles that they all will.

I once had a set of Bear arrows that had feathers 5 1/2" long and about 1/2" in height and they were burned/cut straight from front to back

(1/2" at both ends) they were very good shooters
