For years I thought about making or buying a Howard Hill back quiver. I have many shivers I have mage and several I have bought. I watched eBay for awhile for a used one, but they seem to go for close to the cost of a new one. So I ordered the soft version from Howard Hill Archery. Craig was very helpful, and I had my new quiver within a week. I have to say, I really like it. It does seem huge at first, but after using it I found it really works well. Now to get it broken in.

Another quality hill style quiver to look at is from a guy named Steve Sallee. I got one earlier this year off of his Etsy Shop (Archery Leather). About the same price as a hill style, but you'll have to wait for him to make it. The leather body of the quiver is softer than my Howard Hill model, but I really like the the way he constructed the floor (Bottom). Heavy leather and has nice embossed detail. Excellent craftsmanship, and plenty of pre punched holes for adjustment to fit. You cant go wrong with one from Howard hill, but I think Steves products are fantastic as well.

MGF I do have 4 ASL's. Went shooting this morning with my ASL twin of my Thunderbird. Both 66", [email protected], walnut risers, black back, white belly. Also tried out my new Menards Select pine arrows with white wraps, flew great. Chelo I saw one of Steve's Quivers on eBay a couple weeks ago used. I did not know of them until then, it did look good. I know Soap Creek also makes a nice one. In this case I decided to go with Craig Ekin, I like that he is second generation and that business has been around so long. Quiver works so well, it impressed me again today

I have one that Nate (Sunset Hill) made for me. He takes a lot of pains to make them individually, to fit each person individually. I really like mine.

It only seems big because you don’t have enough arrows in it! ;)
My own quiver is not a “Hill” - more of a P&Y DIY - but it holds about two dozen, and it is a lot of fun to fill it up and take it to the range.

Chuck, I like how you put that silver Thunderbird on the quiver to go along with the St Charles Thunderbird bow.

Huge is good. I punch holes and add a lot of leather laces. Divide the top into thirds; field points, blunts, broadheads or whatever. Lace on a jacket, a water bottle, a hatchet, a poncho, your lunch. I lace onto the front strap a leatherman tool in its sheath. I can even lace on my longbow and ride my motorcycle. In brush rotate it under your left arm. Howard used to carry a lot of dead quail in his - I lace them onto the outside; also pheasants and ducks.
For transport in the truck I can get three dozen arrows in there for safekeeping.
And I may wrap a cashmere sweater around the bottom of the strap in case of a chill. You may think of more. Binoculars? - lbg

Bows get all the glory, yet my best backquivers have seen many bows come and go. Kinda telling, isn’t it?

That is my new to me Thunderbird. Love it. I think I am most accurate with that bow. I did toss a Menards Leather man impersonator in the bottom of my quiver. Used it yesterday to pull 2 stuck points.

Video is well done. The presenter has put a lot of thought into the use of the quiver. Some things I hadn't considered.
