This thread is over due to be posted. First off after a Very good trad with a fellow waller I now have in my possession a 64" Leon Stewart R/D longbow. So far I am having to learn a different "feel" but the bow is smooth and handles nice. In agreement with the thought that has been posted in several other threads, the grip makes a bow feel right, or gets sold. This is very subjective to the shooter. Unless something else changes, this may be my Spring Fling. :-) A few pictures and Hopefully the trade views this. Thanks again Logan.

You will have to excuse the Nugent pinks. They make great pig arrows and are easy to find in the leaf litter. I always keep at least one pig arrow in my quiver while shooting at home. Only a few miles from the Trinity river and we occasionally have unwanted visitors.

The grey target was a 4" square hanging on a string in front of the carpet stack. Was.. The shots were 20'ish yards.

Some other 25 yard shots this evening sitting. The square is what is left of one of the 4" targets. The Stewart R/D bow is very comfortable to shoot.

Sometimes you really do, "Hit the Spot." The arrow is in the string loop that was holding the piece of the 4" target. Again 25 yards.

I have met Leon a few times at shoots, and spoken to him by phone on several occassions to get some info. He is a real committted pro and very knowledgeable.I have the GREAT pleasure of owning TWO R/D longbows that he made and each is a prize. I have no plan of ever letting them go.

Even though I did not purchase this bow from Mr. Stewart directly he was more than helpful on a phone conversation. Glad I get to have one, and Yeah, sometimes the right string can really make a bow feel like it is supposed to. We all are different and I had to get the right feel for stuff to start working. :-D

My Stewarts are my "go to" bows. I have had three made for me custom, and I a have a few others. Leon is the real deal. He hunts (successfully) with the bows he makes, so he knows what works.
During an indoor shoot a couple weeks ago, he took the time to help my 7 year old daughter with her shooting form; she was having difficulty and my advice wasn't helping. He could have been shooting himself, but he helped her out- that's speaks volumes to me.

Watch out Tom…she is going to be a better shooter then you!!! The smile is priceless and she is sure having fun!
I have owned a few of Leon’s bows and shot plenty more. Leon’s is a great guy and fun to hang out with. I have owned R/D and 2 Slammers but only have a Slammer left. It doesn’t get shot much because i love my ASL’s.

I have a Slammer. What's the difference between it and an R/D?
