I went there and ordered a lot of stuff from them. Pretty part of PA.

foxbo, I live about 75 miles east, we used to buy a lot from Dottie Nelson when she managed it for Feline in the late 70's and 80's. It became Nelson's Archery later on.

I remember their ads. It would be nice if those were today's prices!

I lived six miles from Feline Archery. Dottie Nelson worked there before she opened her own store Nelson's Arrows down the street a little from where Feline Archery was on Swede Hill Rd in Greensburg. I used to buy stuff there all the time back in the 1970s and 1980s and I still remember the huge polar bear mount on the right when you walked in the door, and all the head mounts on the walls. The good old days.

I bought from Dot at Nelson's Arrows when I was a compound shooter.

Their arrow making operation was pretty impressive and they shipped worldwide.

Use to spend a lot of time and money in those two stores!

Never seen or heard of them so no waxing nostalgic for me.

When I reminisce it's about old girlfriends, the happy carefree life of my late teens early 20s. Had VERY little belongings, and even less little adult responsibility. My backpack, bicycle, Model 94, VW bug, camera, climbing gear, fiberglass fishing rod, and tools. Take off, do anything I wanted. Power up the wazoo. Endless energy. Zero pain. No responsibility and girlfriend that eff like rabbit. I DO get nostalgic about that lol.

Prices now are essentially the same when adjusted for inflation.

I see the Baker tree stand was only $10.95. I guess the inevitable trip to the emergency room was correspondingly cheaper too.

That was for the hand climber, the stand was a whopping $32.95. :)

I can't remember what year this Baker Treestand catalog was but the prices for the Baker treestands sure went up since 1976.

When you look at those prices in 1976, you have to remember back then $3.50/hr was a decent wage, before taxes. DANNY

I think they showed a pretty high MSRP in the catalog. We got ours dealer price, and retailed them in our shop for $79.95 for the Standard Baker in 1976. When we got the TSS in, with the steel band, no one wanted the Baker. I think that was the next year. We bought many items for our shop from Feline as they gave us a dealer discount as well on many of the items, not on the sale items though.

I prefer the May 1974 Playboy ad

George, How long after that did the traditional equipment disappear from their ads?

1976, I took a transfer from Phx., AZ to San Diego, CA. Got what amounted to a .50 a hour raise for moving to a high priced area. I was shooting a wood riser Jennings compound then. Cost my wife $129 in 1974. Don’t recall seeing ads for Feline but I bought a bunch of stuff from Bowhunters Warehouse and Anderson Archery. I miss those 2 page ads in Bowhunter Magazine and Bow&Arrow magazine.

Cool ads. I don’t know how or what but it just seems archery has lost something over the year when looking back at these vintage ads.

By 1978 they were pretty much hard to find.

Traditional archery was sailing along and seems like almost everybody wanted a "piece of the action" And THEN? Up popped the compounds and a lot of people THOUGHT that those things were magic. Like BOX CALL said? "NEWER isn't ALWAYS Better!"
