That's awesome! Good luck and please give us a recap of your trip with some pics when you get back.

I'd really like to hunt javelinas and or wild hogs someday.

Supernaut +1.

They make great mounts because of their over-sized choppers! Good luck.

Stinking Javey's LOL. Okay, they do have an odor, for anyone who may not know. I have not yet had the opportunity to stick one, but they seem like a fun situation. Grant post the hunt when you get back, and good luck. Did you just book the weekend?

I booked 3 yrs ago. Due to my wife having a heart attack and covid. I had to roll my money over to this year. The group is very understanding. It is a archery hunt, no guns!! I have been hunting The Texas Shoot-out for about 30 yrs. Now the son's of the original people who started it have taken it over. They now call it, " The Javelina Hunt " . That is also the FB page if you want informtion. Ol Buck made it down there one year, but didn't connect. Lots of fun, no stress hunt, 5 days at $300.00 is a deal. Primative camping only.

I will be there, too. Good to see some traditional archers there. Last year was my first to attend, it would be good to meet some Leather wallers down there.

As far as a license, check Texas Parks and Wildlife web site.

Matt B, We camp along the fence on the non generator side. Look for my truck. I do have a new tent, same truck.

I hunted the Texas shoot out on the Callahan ranch back in the early 1980's. First time hunting javi's and it was a good time. I'll be headed to a different ranch again this spring to hunt javi's again. Every ranch is a little different and it's fun to see new country.

Tracey and I were supposed to do this hunt a couple years ago. The year of the ice storm and it was cancelled. Thinking about booking it for 2024. I will be watching your posts on how it goes. Good luck
